Jessie J has announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The British singer, 37, said that the condition had been caught 'early', telling her fans in an emotional video: Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early.'

In the Instagram clip, she revealed that she discovered she had the illness before the release of her hit new single No Secrets, which was released on April 25.

No Secrets was Jessie's comeback song after a roughly four-year hiatus, during which she welcomed her son Sky, two, with basketball star Chanan Colman.

During the clip, Jessie said: 'I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period, adding that she had not been adequately 'processing it ‘cause I’m working so hard.'

Jessie, whose Christian name is Jessica Cornish, also disclosed that she will undergo surgery later this summer.

As she battles breast cancer, Jessie has continued to energetically promote No Secrets, the lead single for her upcoming sixth studio album.

Last month she soldiered through an appearance at the BAFTA Television Awards in London, making her grand return to the stage to sing The Award Goes To.

This week she finally let her fans in on the secret health struggle she has been suffering through behind the glamour of her public life.

'Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,' she said in her Instagram video this Tuesday. 'I’m highlighting the word “early.” Cancer sucks in any form but I’m holding onto the word early.'

Jessie said she 'wanted to be open and share it - one, because selfishly I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it ‘cause I’m working so hard.'

She added: 'I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me, with other people giving me their love and support and also their own stories.'

The London native stated: 'I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much, similar and worse. That’s the bit that kills me.'

Jessie reflected: 'To get diagnosed with this as I’m putting out a song called No Secrets, right before a song called Living My Best Life – which was all pre-planned, before I found out about this. I mean, you can’t make it up.'

In an Instagram video, she revealed that she discovered she had the illness before the release of her hit new single No Secrets, which dropped on April 25.

She joked: 'It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job,' adding that the operation to excise the cancer would occur sometime after her appearance at Summertime Ball at London's Wembley Stadium on June 15.

Jessie told fans she would 'disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery and I will come back with massive t**s and more music.'

Her cancer diagnosis is the latest heartrending revelation from the singer, whose new single No Secrets told the story of a shattering miscarriage she suffered in 2021.

Two years later, she joyfully welcomed her firstborn child, her son Sky, with her longtime boyfriend, basketball star Chanan Colman.

She recently sweetly shared that whenever Sky 'hears me singing, he looks at everyone in the room and goes, "mummy's singing." He finishes the songs I sang to him when he was a baby. He sings it to me,' via The Project.
