The rollercoaster ride that is the love story between TOWIE’s Ella Rae Wise and Dan Edgar took yet another twist earlier this year when she ended their relationship just days before entering the Celebrity Big Brother house.
At the time, there were rumours that Ella was hoping to strike up a romance (or showmance, if you’re a cynic) with fellow housemate Chris Hughes. However, as you’ll probably be aware, Chris actually ended up falling for JoJo Siwa during their time in the CBB house.
Instead, it was actually Dan who ended up romancing a Love Island star as it came to light last month that he’d dated Angel Swift just weeks before she jetted out to Majorca to appear on series 12 of the ITV2 dating show.
While Angel was in the villa, a source told Closer that Dan was hoping to reunite with her (poor Ty Isherwood) and even had plans to get on her on TOWIE, which would no doubt be to the annoyance of Ella.
When we caught up with the TOWIE cast at the ITV Reality showcase last week, we had to get Ella’s thoughts on Angel potentially joining the show and her response was very interesting.
‘I don’t think he would want that,’ Ella insisted.
‘That was a fling,’ she added of Dan’s relationship with Angel.
Dan’s brief romance with Angel first came to light just after she entered the villa as Love Island 2025’s last bombshell. At the time, one of her pals told The Sun, ‘They were together during one of the May bank holidays in Marbella and spent time hanging out.
‘They were seen at various events, it was casual dating but they had fun together.’
A source close to Essex lothario Dan added, ‘It was just one date really, and it was after he split from Ella. Dan was very much single at the time.’
Another insider later told Closer, ‘It was pretty much a “one and done” between Dan and Angel, but a lot of fun was had between the pair after his break-up with Ella and her stint on Celebrity Big Brother.
‘He saw it as a sort of “just deserts” for Ella after the way she ended things with him before she went on CBB in the hope of a potential fling between herself and Chris Hughes, which obviously didn’t work out for her.’
