Howie Roseman of the Eagles is considering adding a recently fired GM, a controversial move that could reshape the team's dynamics - suong

Things didn't work out so well for Joe Douglas as the general manager of the New York Jets.

Could a reunion with the Philadelphia Eagles revitalize his career?

Jets GM Joe Douglas

Before becoming the face of New York's front office, Douglas was the vice president of player personnel for the Eagles behind general manager and football czar Howie Roseman. The Douglas-Roseman tandem ended up winning a Super Bowl in their second season together.

Through his shrewd ability to access the waiver wire, and to find diamonds in the rough of later rounds, Douglas helped the Eagles become one of the best teams in football.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that a reunion in Philadelphia is in the cards.

The Eagles, and particularly Roseman, have lost a ton of executive assistants over the last few seasons. Brandon Brown, Andrew Berry, Ian Cunningham, Catherine Raîche, and Andy Weidl are just a few names who have left the team for promotions elsewhere over the last few years.

Douglas was on that list as well. But his 30-64 record in six seasons with the Jets clearly showed the time was right for New York to move on from their general manager at this time.

Philadelphia will always want to replenish its front office with top talent. Douglas' struggles in New York show he may be better off as a personnel assistant than as a guy calling all the shots.

And that alone could lead to a reunion with the Eagles.
