In a raw and unfiltered confession on her latest podcast episode, Turning the Tables, Teresa Giudice finally addressed the elephant in the room: her staggering $3 million tax debt — and the silence of her ex-husband, Joe Giudice.
The 53-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star has faced mounting scrutiny after reports emerged earlier this year revealing both she and current husband Luis Ruelas had been slapped with multiple federal tax liens. Now, Teresa is publicly taking accountability for the financial mess — but not without pointing fingers at the men who, she says, left her to carry it alone.
“I’m not running. I’ve never run from anything,” Teresa declared. “But let’s get one thing straight: I’ve been left alone to deal with all of this. And Joe? He’s in the Bahamas, sending zero support, zero help, zero anything.”
The comment stunned listeners and quickly made waves online — with fans flooding social media to defend the mother-of-four, while others questioned how such a massive financial oversight had gone unchecked for so long.
According to court records, Teresa was hit with a federal tax lien in March amounting to $303,889.20. But it didn’t stop there. Luis, 50, was served two additional liens — one in December 2024 for $163,523.94, and a second in March 2025 totaling $2,569,842.06 — bringing the couple’s total owed taxes to a jaw-dropping $3,037,255.20.
But Teresa insists she’s taking control.
“I’ve made changes to my team. I had to,” she explained. “I thought things were being handled properly — they weren’t. Now I’ve got top-tier people. I’m not making that mistake again.”
While she refrained from naming her former accountants directly, insiders close to the star say Teresa “quietly fired” her entire financial advisory team in April after discovering what she allegedly called “years of neglected filings.”
And as for her ex-husband? Teresa didn’t hold back.
“I’m doing this all on my own. Everything — for the girls, for the house, for the taxes. I don’t get a dollar of child support. Nothing. And Joe says, ‘I don’t have the money.’ Well, that’s convenient, isn’t it? He’s living in paradise while I’m busting my ass on TV, trying to pay back the government.”
Fans of the show will recall that Joe Giudice was deported to Italy following his prison stint for fraud. He later relocated to the Bahamas in a controversial move that allowed him easier access to his daughters — but according to Teresa, that “proximity” hasn’t translated to parental support.
“Luis has been great, but let’s be clear — these aren’t his children. This isn’t his debt. He didn’t sign up for this,” Teresa said, adding that she’s never wanted to burden her new husband with her past. “That’s why I’m still working. I’m doing appearances, I’m building my brand, I’m paying this off myself.”
The comments come just days after Teresa stormed out of a live interview on WGN Chicago, when host Larry Potash blindsided her with a question about the tax liens. The moment sparked fierce debate online, with some accusing the anchor of ambushing her, and others claiming Teresa was dodging accountability.
Now, the mother of four says she’s had enough of being treated like “a criminal trying to fix what other people broke.”
“I’m not perfect. I trusted the wrong people, and I’m paying the price. But don’t come at me like I’m not trying. Don’t come at me like I’m not showing up for my kids, or for what I owe. Because I am. And I’ll continue to.”
As RHONJ remains on pause ahead of its 15th season, insiders say the drama behind the scenes may be just as explosive as what fans see on screen. With her finances in the spotlight, her ex-husband in the Bahamas, and the press digging deeper into her every move, Teresa Giudice isn’t just fighting a legal battle — she’s fighting for her reputation.
And if her tone is any indication, she’s not planning to go down without a fight.
