The RHOC daughter plans to major in film studies at her dad's alma mater.
Kat Dubrow is following in her father’s footsteps.
While approaching her final weeks of high school, The Real Housewives of Orange County daughter returned to Instagram to formally announce her college decision. (Cue the drumroll). The 18-year-old is heading to Yale University, the same Ivy League school her dad, Dr. Terry Dubrow, attended in the 1980s.
Heather and Terry's youngest daughter, Kat, is headed to Yale University
“Kat to Yale!” read a post on the Windward ‘25 College Decisions page. “Real Housewives of New Haven are getting a new addition. Go Bulldogs!”
Kat’s announcement was, unsurprisingly, met with congratulatory messages, which she immediately re-shared on Instagram.
“Yale just got the best,” one person wrote. “I am so proud.”
“My genius best friend is going to Yale,” her BFF boasted. “No one more deserving.”
“She’s an ivy leaguer,” another person added.
What will Kat study in college?
Kat’s college announcement also confirmed her plans to major in film studies — a decision her mom Heather Dubrow, revealed in August 2024.
“So Kat is going to be a senior in high school,” Heather told BravoTV.com before gushing over Kat’s accolades. “She wants to go to school for film, so she’s applying now. The Academy, that does the Oscars, the Academy does a teen film series, and her film got accepted into that, which is so exciting.”
Kat began making films during her freshman year of high school and has received multiple awards for her work. Back in March, the West Coast native was featured in the Westflix Film Festival, where she received the Cheri Gaulke Award for Visual Storytelling. The honor was for Chemtrails, a short film about a young boxer struggling with outside pressures and self-identity. Kat wrote, directed, and edited the visual, which was praised for its “color and stylized staging.”
Heather shares an update on her oldest kids, Max and Nick
“Nicky got his real estate license,” Heather told BravoTV.com. “He made his first sale. He interned with [Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles] agent Josh Altman last year. And this year, he’s working in production a little bit. He’s really just trying to get a flavor of all different careers and see what he loves.”
Max is studying abroad in France and is majoring in psychology; however, Heather revealed that her oldest daughter has yet to select a career path.
“She doesn’t know what she wants to do yet,” the OC mom said. “Maybe law school. She also sings.”
Heather and Terry’s youngest child, Ace, turned 14 in late 2024, which means the couple has a few more years before becoming empty-nesters.
