‘He will be playing in the NFL for a long time’ — Cowboys legend Dez Bryant stuns fans with bold message to Las Vegas Raiders rookie Jack Bech amid questions over Raiders’ thin receiver room and pressure for Day One impact - suong

If everything goes as planned for the Las Vegas Raiders during the 2025-26 NFL season, they should be in a decent position. However, there are certainly a few questions about the Raiders’ offense, and that could be somewhat concerning, depending on how things go when the going gets tough.

Ultimately, the Raiders need help at wide receiver, and unless that gets fixed over the next month and a half, there will be some question marks heading into the first week of the year.

Despite that, some believe the Raiders have done a decent job finding talent, especially with youngster Jack Bech, a wide receiver from TCU. Bech recently signed his rookie deal, and now the Raiders have all of their draft pick signed.

Former NFL legend Dez Bryant took to social media and gave him a strong endorsement after the news of his contract.

“He will be playing in the NFL for a long time,” Bryant said of Bech on X/formerly Twitter.

Bech Projected to Be a Day One Contributor

Bryant hasn’t been the only one who believes that Bech can be a massive piece for the Las Vegas Raiders during the season. Some even believe that he could take other spots, including FanSided, which recently noted that Bech could be the player who takes over for Tre Tucker, who has shown some decent signs throughout his young NFL career.

“Third-year receiver Tre Tucker started 14 games for Las Vegas last season after the departure of Davante Adams. However, through his first two NFL campaigns, his production has not matched the third-round investment that the Raiders made on him in 2023,” they wrote.

“Tucker could easily be replaced by Bech in the starting lineup this season if the rookie has a strong training camp and preseason. Not only was he brought in by the current regime, but he essentially lines up in the same spot that Tucker does.”

At TCU, Bech was above average, posting 1,034 yards in his final season, including nine touchdowns. He started his career with the LSU Tigers, playing SEC football.

Raiders Have Talent, but Have Serious Holes as Well

Outside of their wide receiver core, the Las Vegas Raiders offense is in a decent position. With Ashton Jeanty, arguably the best tight end in the NFL, with Brock Bowers, and a veteran Geno Smith, some believe they could be decent.

However, when ranking wide receiver, tight end, and running back groups in the NFL, ESPN recently had them at No. 20, citing that the wide receiver group is in a tough spot at the moment. Despite the other areas being great, they can’t ignore just how bad Las Vegas’ wide receiver room is.

“With these rankings leaning on wide receivers as their primary driver, though, the Raiders can’t get very high. Jakobi Meyers continues to exceed expectations and should be considered one of the best slot receivers in football, but even while allowing for the possibility of Bowers lining up outside, the depth chart at wide receiver is paper thin.

“With low-impact deep threat Tre Tucker as the only other meaningful veteran holdover, the Raiders will rely on second-rounder Jack Bech and fourth-rounder Dont’e Thornton to step in as contributors. Third-year tight end Michael Mayer, taken with the 35th pick of the 2023 draft, has barely registered as a pro and might be a trade candidate given that the people who selected him have already been replaced twice,” they wrote.
