Golden Bachelorette fans were filled with emotion as they witnessed Jonathan Rone shed a tear over his fear of rejection.
During the latest episode of The Golden Bachelorette, Jonathan was one of the lucky men to be chosen by Joan to embark on a romantic one-on-one date. And while Bachelor Nation contestants typically jump at any chance for some alone time with the bachelorette, Jonathan was filled with anxiety over the thought of their first official date together.
After hearing his name called, the 61-year-old shipping consultant eyes welled up as he confessed to this fellow contestants: "Don't get me wrong I'm really, really grateful and excited. The main worry is that I'm going to be in a position where she really, really sees me and if I'm going to be what she's looking for."

To which his fellow contestant Gregg immediately shut down his concerns as he sweetly reassured him: "She's going to see a wonderful guy." Jonathan then replied: "Thank you I appreciate that," and went on to explain: "I wanted to go on a group date because of the double-edged sword. You know?"
Jonathan teared up as he spoke about his fears of rejection and leaving the show alone
In his a confessional, Jonathan tearfully shared: "I'm not ready for a one-on-one with Joan. If everything went great and we have a great time and at the end of the day Joan says 'I can't offer you this rose' - man that'd be heartbreaking." He then added: "What scares me the most is that at the end of this journey there is a possibility that I might be alone again."
After Jonathan's vulnerable admission, fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on their first date. One fan assured: "Jonathan, bro. Just be the nice guy you are and she'll be all about you, my man." And another added: "Jonathan, that's terrible.. What a tender moment!! JONATHAN you are enough boo!!!! Trust n believe that! Your ex loss out! Say it Juan you WON again!!!" While another chimed in: "Jonathan please stop overthinking this."

Despite Jonathan's fears, the pair experienced a beautiful and romantic one-on-one date during which they went horseback riding, opened up about their pasts, and shared their first kiss. And while Jonathan seemed smitten with Joan, the bachelorette did seem to have her doubts as she felt one moment of uncertainty.
As the pair were trotting along the path, a large group of hawks flew in the sky above them. And as Joan observed the birds, she recalled that her late husband used to tell their children that seeing hawks was a "bad omen." After Joan explained this in a confessional, fans took to social media shared their own doubts about Jonathan.
