Next Gen NYC Star Gia Giudice Talks RHONJ Being too Toxic, How it Differs from Her New Show, Why She May Soon Move Out of Teresa's House, and More

When it comes to the children of Housewives stars, there are a few names that come to mind first. One is Gia Giudice. Many watched her grow up and follow in Teresa Giudice‘s footsteps on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and now she’s stepping out on her own. Recently, she opened up about Next Gen NYC and her life in general in a new interview.

The Casual Chaos host responded, “I don’t really think I’m nervous about anything. I was really my most authentic self the whole season. And what I’m excited about is honestly just to see how the whole show is going to come together.”

She continued, “I would say what I am nervous about, I think every season you learn from yourself, even when I would watch myself on Real Housewives or when my or when you mom would watch yourself on Real Housewives because you would be in every single season. I mean, because you would be in every single episode.”

Gia also dropped a tidbit about what annoyed her from the trailer for Next Gen NYC. According to her, “On the Next Gen NYC trailer, they showed me saying, shut the f**k up. I think I said that once the entire season, and that’s when they put it in. And I was like genuinely like I was annoyed.”

She also opened up about the differences between filming Housewives and being a part of her new show. Gia said, “Well, like I said, it’s more targeted towards my age group. So it’s more playful, fun. It’s not as serious. Filming the Real Housewives with my family, it was real. It was family drama, things that we were really going through. And it was honestly exhausting.”

Later in the podcast, they took questions from fans on social media. One person wanted to know how Gia handles the criticism. To this, she discussed developing thick skin and how it helped when her parents “went away.” She said, “I was a freshman in high school. I had Instagram and stuff. I think when my parents were going away, deep down, we knew, like, that this was, this was, like, just clearly being blown out of proportion.”

She continued, “Like, it was more of, like, a devastation to our family that I think I really didn’t give a sh** what anybody said. Like, it was just, it was so sad. It was, like, so devastating for everyone around that we really didn’t give a s**t what anybody said because we deep down knew that our family, like, and that our parents were such amazing people that it was just shut the hell up.”

Back on the topic of her podcast, Casual Chaos, Teresa wanted to know why she started it. According to Gia, “Honestly, I love conversing with people, hearing other people’s stories. I also love telling my story for people who don’t know. And I’m really excited to do more solo podcasts.”

She continued, “I am doing a lot of guests right now, but eventually I’m going to lean into more solo podcasts and talk about topics that can really help other people, like how I coped with my parents’ divorce and how I coped with my parents being incarcerated and even just other topics like death, you know, like my grandparents passing away, when people pass away that are very close to you, how I dealt with those things.”

Gia went on to say that she wants her podcast to be relatable and for her listeners to feel like she’s having a conversation with them. From there, Teresa then asked her daughter about her dream guest. Gia said, “My dream guest on my podcast would be, besides you, Khloe Kardashian.”

The two continued with this line of questioning for a while, and Gia admitted that podcasting is busier than she expected it to be. In fact, she says this may lead to a significant life change.

She explained, “I’m highly considering moving out in the next year just because it’s a lot, just driving back and forth, and it’s the driving that makes you the most tired. Going into the city and working for two, three hours, completely fine. The drive in, I’m usually fine, but it’s the drive home where I literally feel like I’m going to fall asleep on the road.”

In the end, she was asked about her goals for the next five years. Gia didn’t go into detail, but says she hopes to have some empire by then.
