Smith took up the starting role in the Seattle offense after Russell Wilson left for Colorado in 2022.

He has since resurrected his career after spending the majority of his time in the NFL as a backup.

Smith arrived at Tom Brady's franchise with one year to go on a three-month contract with was worth $31million.

The play-caller has now penned a lucrative extension to keep him with the Raiders until 2027.

Smith has signed two-year, $85.5m extension that includes $66.5m in guaranteed money, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Geno is reuniting with his former coach Pete Carroll in Vegas.

"2 yrs 85.5m. That sounds like a lot of money for Geno," responded one fan to the news.

"Geno isn't worth $85-million. Just my opinion as a Seahawks fan," said another.

"This is a middle of the road QB contract for a good QB," argued a third.

"His agent pulled off a HEIST," laughed a fourth.

Brady, a minority owner at the Raiders, has spearheaded a busy offseason for the organization.

Star defensive end Maxx Crosby has been handed a three-year, $106.5m deal.

And the Raiders are widely expected to go for running back Ashton Jeanty in the upcoming NFL Draft.

In two seasons as a full-time starter under Carroll, Smith threw for 7,906 yards, 50 touchdowns and 20 interceptions.

Last year he put up career numbers as he led the Seahawks to the postseason and a 10-7 winning record.

Smith had an impressive 70.4 completion percentage and threw for a career-best 4,320 yards.

The Raiders are expected to be busy in the offseason acquiring receiving talent for their new QB.
