Former RHOBH Producer Patrick McDonald Praised Garcelle Beauvais For Leaving The Toxicity Behind - suong

Former Bravo TV staffer, Patrick McDonald, shared his take on Garcelle Beauvais during his time as the “supervising producer on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

After choosing work/life balance, Patrick was “iced out and blackballed” from the network for creating adult content on a subscription site. He detailed the nightmare of working on several Bravo shows, (which Taste of Reality will deep-dive, so stay tuned!) but also the dynamic of working with the cast members he was such a fan of before working in reality tv.

Team Garcelle:

Patrick wanted the actress/producer/and reality TV alum her well-deserved flowers. “I want to touch on Garcelle announcing her departure from the show. I’ve seen some wildly negative things said about her online.”

“I could go on for days about what a pleasure Garcelle was to work with.”

He continued, “If you really want to measure the character of a Real Housewife, ask the crew members who they like to shoot with the most. You can learn a lot about a person by the way they treat the people they think can do nothing for them.”

“Any morning when the crew found out that they were spending the day with Garcelle, they were ecstatic … They most definitely do not feel that way about all of the ladies on the show.”

“I’m so proud of Garcelle for prioritizing her life over a TV show.”

@patrick_mcdonald PART 1 For the past 5 years I have been producing reality shows for Bravo. That is until recently when I was iced out from all the shows I work on after I started making adult content on subscription fan sites. The reason I started making this kind of content, besides the fact that I wanted to, was because I was extremely burnt out and exhausted by the incredibly toxic work culture on many of the shows I worked on. I have produced 13 seasons of Bravo TV across 9 different shows, from coast to coast. I’m acutely aware of the inner workings and work culture across the board at the network. It’s bittersweet as there are so many aspects of this job and so many people that work on these shows that I love. But ultimately I learned this job was not conducive to me living a healthy, balanced, and fulfilling life. So I made a pivot that some may not understand. And that’s okay! I couldn’t be happier or more content with what I’m doing now. As challenging as it was at times, I’ll always be grateful for many of the memories and friendships that came from this chapter of my life. I’ve always believed in trying to leave a place better than you found it. So on my way out, here are a few things about the toxic work culture I’d like to bring to @bravotv ‘s attention and hopefully see change in the future. Let’s be honest … Garcelle is too good for RHOBH:

Garcelle had ENOUGH of the drama that comes with being a cast member on the RHOBH at the season 14 reunion.

“I am just so f*cking sick of it.” Garcelle exclaimed, “I can’t be friends with people like that. I don’t trust them. They’re all f*cking assh*les.”

The rest of the women appeared shocked as they watched Garcelle walk away from them.

Erika ‘Jayne’ Girardi accused Garcelle of not being “interesting,” despite being a self-made, hard-working, talented, woman grounded with morals and the support of loving friends, family, and badass former colleagues like Patrick McDonald. Truly, why would Garcelle spend another minute of her precious time with those bottom feeders?
