The Raiders could use another wide receiver to pair with Geno Smith. On paper, Las Vegas' biggest flaw is its lack of pass catchers.
Amari Cooper, who the Raiders drafted with the No. 4 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, could fit that mold. Cooper, however, is without a team, and the latest report from Matthew Berry of NBC Sports sounds like he might have a tough time finding a new home.
Not just with Las Vegas, but any team in the league.
"Amari is done. That's not me talking. That's from an offensive coach of a former team of his I spoke to at the Combine," Berry wrote.
Cooper has been around the league a bit, playing for four teams in his 10-year career. After being drafted by the Raiders of Oakland at the time, he's appeared in games for the Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills.
The five-time Pro Bowl selection was traded to the Bills last season prior to the deadline. Josh Allen was hopeful he found his new No. 1 target, but Cooper was a shell of himself, dealing with injuries and posting just 297 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.
Teams could be worried about his lack of production with an elite quarterback like Allen.
Still, with seven seasons of at least 1,000 yards and a Pro Bowl selection as recently as 2023, a team should be willing to give him another chance.
If the Raiders could land Cooper on a cheap deal, he'd be a player to consider.
