Rangers' Tony DeAngelo donates $1K to Wounded Warrior Project | YardbarkerFormer NHLer and New York Rangers controversial defenseman has took to social media to reveal the ridiculous reason he believes he's no longer in the League.

Former Rangers defensemen Tony DeAngelo took to social to voice his opinion on Wednesday after Donald Trump won the US Presidential election.

While doing so, the former National Hockey League defenseman sparked some controversy with his comments and stated a feud with former NHL official Tim Peel, two people who are not afraid to voice their opinions.

With that being said, here is Tony DeAngelo's statement that started this whole thing:

This feels good. I was one of the only athletes to stand behind Trump from day one. It's one of the reasons I'm not in the nhl anymore but our country is more important! The silent majority once again showed up, people who unfortunately had to be scared to support used the VOTE!

Of course this caught the attention of former NHL referee Tim Peel, who then instantly called out DeAngelo and stated a feud between the two.

Here's the rest of the exchange between the two:

Despite how you feel about either one of these two people, you'd have to slightly agree with Peel as it's highly unlike that Tony DeAngelo isn't playing in the NHL due to supporting Donald Trump.

DeAngelo used to be play with the New York Rangers for four seasons that ranged from 2017-18 to 2020-21, during this time he managed to appear in 167 games while tallying 19 goals and 73 assists for a total of 92 points.

However, On September 23, 2024, DeAngelo signed a one-year contract with SKA Saint Petersburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), after teams from the NHL refused to sign him to any deals.
