Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders took to NFL Network on Friday to state he dislikes the T-Step. In an interview with Bucky Brooks, Sanders discussed his hatred for the technique.
The current Colorado head coach then demonstrated the T-Step while he bashed it.
"Let me teach you real quick how stupid the T-step is real quick," Sanders said, "I'm going to teach you real quick, Bucky."
Sanders went on to say he thought the move was "stupid" and that if one of his players did it, he would rip their facemask off."
Former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel, who also attended Florida State, like Sanders, saw the video and disagreed with him. In fact, he said Sanders was "foolish."
"I can't stop laughing at how foolish he sounds. You can't control everything, sir. The first thing a cornerback is taught, never run out of breaks. Sooooo T-Step is the perfect technique" Samuel said on social media.
Sanders then struck back on social media.
"Sir. Foolish. Lololol. God Bless u my brother. Tell them what this really about sir. U forever taking a shot at the sky. Mickey Andrews (former Florida State defensive coordinator) is responsible for teaching us what I teach and it sure seemed like it worked for us. Peace be Still," Sanders said.
Samuel was a great cornerback, in his day, but Sanders is the one with the Gold Jacket and could be thought of as the best ever to play the position.
Sanders is also the head coach at the University of Colorado. He led them to a Bowl Game last season.
The college football season will start again in 2025 and Sanders will look for a second consecutive bowl invitation. … and surely more controversy to come.
