Flyers Prospects: Alexis Gendron Becomes QMJHL Champion-quang

Philadelphia Flyers prospect Alexis Gendron became a QMJHL champion with the Drummondville  Voltigeurs on Tuesday, sweeping the Baie-Comeau Drakkar to win the title. 

Gendron recorded two assists in the 4-3 victory, finishing his 2023-24 playoff run with 11 goals (including a hat trick) and eight assists across 15 games.

He played in 16 games during the QMJHL regular season, nabbing 10 goals and eight assists, and also spent some time in the AHL with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, securing five goals and two assists across 17 games.

This is Drummondville's second QMJHL title in 15 years.

The trophy hunt hasn't ended yet for the Voltigeurs, as they now will be gearing up to participate in the Memorial Cup in Saginaw, Mich. They will compete against hosts Saginaw Spirit, along with the champions of the OHL (either the London Knights or Oshawa Generals) and the WHL (either the Moose Jaw Warriors or the Portland Winterhawks) in the four-game tournament that runs from May 24 to June 2. 

Gendron was drafted by the Flyers 220th overall in 2022.
