Things are still unsettled within the group after Brynn ‘s party. On this episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Erin tries to settle issues with Brynn, but Sai hasn’t been given the opportunity to clear the air with Brynn yet. On top of petty fights, Erin’s trying to navigate her mother’s cancer diagnosis and some marital issues with Abe. Hopefully a trip out east will bring this group back together, whether they get there by Bentley or helicopter!
Erin’s mother has been diagnosed with cancer, and so, in a sign of solidarity, Erin has decided to chop her hair to the same length as her mom’s to be in the fight with her. Ubah joins the mother-daughter-duo at a wig shop, showing that Ubah is always there for Erin during her tough times.
While Erin’s mom tries on some wigs, Erin talks about how much Brynn is damaging friendships. It is like she doesn’t even realize Erin’s mother is sick since she continues to push Erin. Erin can be slightly relieved though, since Jenna promises that Brynn’s actions have not damaged their friendship. After all, last year in Anguilla, Jenna opened up to everyone about money being dry at times. Erin swears that stuck in the back of Brynn’s mind and that is why she told Jenna the Uber comment that Erin made. Maybe it’s just time the ladies simply accept that Brynn continuously changes stories…
When Ubah asks about Abe, Erin becomes emotional since there were some decisions that Abe didn’t run past Erin first. Erin feels betrayed by Abe especially since she really needed him as she navigated her mother’s illness, but the details of it all are still a bit murky.
Sai shakes Jenna down for tricks and trades about the high schools in New York. Sai feels like Jenna has great advice and does not want to go back to her angry ways, which came out the other day at Brynn’s party. Sai flipped when Jenna told her that Brynn said Sai hated Jenna. Jenna points out it wasn’t just what Brynn said, since she has heard those rumors from others, as well. Sai felt hurt by Brynn, especially since she has been there for her, but does say, “Even if I did say that, that’s f*cked up” of Brynn to spill the beans, considering the friend Sai has been to her.
The problem is that Brynn won’t meet with Sai to clear the air. Sai explains that she texted Brynn and told her that her feelings were hurt, but Brynn simply left Sai on read, a huge FU. Sai points out that everyone has seen Brynn do mean things, but when Sai pops off, it’s a big issue. Sai states that when Brynn is upset, she threatens people and freaks out. She even refers back to a text where Brynn refers to herself as “carbon monoxide,” the silent killer.
We get a glimpse inside of Racquel‘s home life. Her fiancée, Mel, is a forensic neuropsychologist who tends to cater to the dogs. We also learn that Racquel’s cooking abilities are not great based on the reviews from her children. At least the dogs eat well!
In a power move like no other, Brynn preps a glass of tap water for Erin, which is the equivalent of sticking someone’s toothbrush in the toilet bowl. When Erin enters Brynn’s apartment, Brynn greets her cooly and after seeing Erin’s new hairdo quips, “Going through sh*t so you hadda cut your hair.” If Brynn stopped to ask instead of starting trouble all the time, maybe she would know that Erin cut her hair in support of her mother who has cancer.
Erin starts by saying, “I’m apologizing,” but a condescending Brynn fights back. Brynn wonders why Sai jumped in during their fight and points out that she has never screamed at a friend in public. Erin reminds Brynn that she will just behave like carbon monoxide, a nod to an earlier text Brynn sent explaining her tactics. Erin tries to win Brynn over by stating that she is an authentic person, something that an authentic person should not have to say.
Erin goes on to admit that she should have stopped Jeff Lewis sooner during the podcast and Brynn throws a dig at Erin reminding her that “this isn’t like Staten Island,” which deeply offends Erin the pure-bred New Yorker. Erin does not like seeing Brynn hurt and makes an emotional apology. Brynn then apologizes for making it awkward with Jenna. We learn that Brynn was embarrassed when Jenna pointed out that Brynn forgave Erin too quickly and so Brynn threw Erin under the bus as a quick rebuttal.
Erin lets Brynn know that she is going through a lot right now and her mom’s battle with cancer is rocking her. Brynn believes that she is like a sister to Erin and so, they make up and Brynn outs herself for giving Erin tap water.
Jenna and her posse, including her son Beckett, are spending some QT together since he is leaving “the nest” soon. So, they’re doing group bonding: aka rock wall climbing. After her son crushes it, Jenna gives it a whirl and we see that she should just stick to fashion. Jenna talks college with her son and encourages him to make his dreams a reality even if it he means he move far away. Her segment ends with a 2024 Bentley hybrid arriving for Jenna, thus proving that she clearly does not have any money problems.
Abe and Erin are out on a date. Erin lets him know that things with Brynn are settled, and since she is hosting the ladies out east in the Hamptons next weekend, she is hopeful that things will go smoothly, despite the house being under construction.
Erin goes on to discuss Abe hiding things from her. Finding out that Abe quietly sold their Bitcoin was incredibly shocking and hurtful. That is something you should discuss with your spouse. We learn that Abe had other bills from his previous business that he needed to clear up and that Erin did not realize they went into debt because of them. Erin asks that Abe be honest and stop holding back from her. Abe claims he kept her in the dark, so as not to add to her stress, but that he puts a great deal of pressure on himself to provide Erin the lifestyle she likes.
Ubah is busy shopping for the Hamptons with Sai. Ubah calls her boyfriend the one stable thing in her life, but states that she hasn’t been happy since all of the fighting within the group. She calls Brynn a manipulator and Sai points out that it’s like Brynn wants everyone to fight, but be close to her.
Regarding the upcoming Hamptons trip, Ubah explains that she will be driving there, rather than taking the helicopter with Rebecca, Sai, and Jessel . Sai and Ubah make plans to carpool together, but claim it is because they enjoy driving, not because they are avoiding the ladies. Wink wink.
Brynn feels like Sai simply doesn’t want to be around her, but claims she doesn’t want to fight any more. Correct. BRYNN doesn’t want to fight. She just wants everyone else fighting because of the things she stirs up. After all, she is a party girl. It turns out that Jenna is also not going on the helicopter, except she forget to tell everyone. Let’s be real: Jenna just wants to flex her new car to squash any money issue rumors.
While on the chopper, Brynn does what she does best: stirs the pot. She outright asks Rebecca, “If people ask us about the Scientology sh*t, what do you want us to say?” Rebecca suggests Brynn say, “no comment.” Brynn realizes that no comment does not work with news outlets, but Rebecca is remaining tight-lipped. It is a world recognized religion, but Brynn feels like the response given by Rebecca is very “chat GPT.” This conversation is certainly not over…
