Even more offensive tweets resurface from Love Island’s Helena Ford as viewers accuse her of racism, misogyny and shocking behaviour towards her own mum in social media storm that threatens to derail her time in the villa - suong

Just yesterday, a tweet Helena Ford made before Love Island 2025 resurfaced, and she got huge backlash. The 29-year-old cabin crew worker had posted in 2014, and people called her “racist” because of the comments.

“All I can hear are these f*cking foreign dickheads,” she said in the post. But, the account seemingly belonging to Helena didn’t stop there. There are even more tweets that are being called out. After finding the comments, one person on Twitter said: “Get her out.”

All of the posts are still active on a Twitter account, with the same handle as her official Instagram page. In one post, she called her own mum a “slag” and in another, called her mum a “dog.”

“Nah, mums cooking steak, is this a joke? Are you a slag? Why would she do this to me,” the tweet read. The other said: “Told my boss I’m taking my dog for a walk, little does she know I’m talking about my mum.”

‘She would acknowledge she has done a lot of growing up’

The Tab reached out to Love Island for comment. A source close to Helena said: This tweet is not reflective of the language Helena would use as a 30 year old woman and she would acknowledge she has done a lot of growing up since what she very naively posted over ten years ago.”

ITV also told The Tab: “We are very transparent about the processes that are in place to prepare Islanders ahead of entering the villa, one of these being a programme of language and behaviour training which covers race, ethnicity and micro-aggressions. We execute extensive background checks in advance of Islanders entering the show and are one of the only shows in the UK to offer such a detailed training programme to provide education and instruction to Islanders on what is considered acceptable behaviour and how they should conduct themselves in the villa.

“This training is their opportunity to learn and gain perspective from any mistakes or errors of judgement that have been made prior to going on the show. Language and behaviour in the villa is always closely monitored – and Islanders are reminded of what we consider acceptable during their time on the show.”
