Eva Marcille Honors Kandi Burruss: "Inspiring Black Women in This Space"

Just because Eva Marcille and Kandi Burruss are no longer on Real Housewives of Atlanta doesn’t mean they aren’t close. In fact, Eva still has a handful of her former castmates on speed dial.

The RHOA alum is currently starring in a Peacock miniseries called Eat Slay Love, but she recently reflected on her time as an Atlanta Housewife. It turns out she made some lifelong friends during her brief stint on the show.

Nothing but respect for Kandi Burruss

Eva Marcille on Eat Slay Love

Eva joined Real Housewives of Atlanta as a friend in Season 10 before holding a peach in Seasons 11 and 12. Although a few years have passed since her days as an Atlanta Housewife, she told Bravo’s The Daily Dish that she’s still close with a few of the peaches.

According to Eva, she’s close with Shamea Morton and Cynthia Bailey. She said she had recently texted with the latter over the “crazy election” we all endured. Then, when the conversations shifted to Kandi, Eva couldn’t help but sing her praise.

“I don’t miss anything she does,” Eva said. “I support all her endeavors.”

Of course, supporting Kandi in all of her endeavors could be a full-time job in itself. She’s touring, she’s acting, and she’s producing Broadway shows with her husband. It’s a lot, and Eva explained why she respected Kandi’s hustle to push for Black women.

She explained, “Black women in this space are so underrepresented, and she goes above and beyond and continues to move the needle forward.”

Eva is one hundred percent correct. In 2020, Kandi wrote to Bravo and the RHOA production company to advocate for change. She wanted to see more diversity both on and off-screen.

Although Kandi is no longer in the Bravo universe, it’s clear that her impact is still being felt. With Eva’s ever-expanding resumé, she might be following in Kandi’s footsteps. In addition to her new show on Peacock, her scripted show All The Queen’s Men drops Season 4 later this month.

You can stream all three episodes of Eat Slay Love right now on Peacock.
