Erika Jayne is suggesting an unlikely legendary setup between John Mellencamp and her newly-single Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar Dorit Kemsley.
“John should get with Dorit. That’s what [should happen],” Erika, 53, told John’s daughter, Teddi Mellencamp, on the Thursday, May 1, episode of iHeartRadio’s “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast.
Teddi, who starred on RHOBH from season 8 to 11, seemingly gasped in shock at the mere suggestion that her father might date her former castmate, though she admitted the pair could be a solid match.
“They could talk each other’s ears off,” Teddi, 43, joked.

The subject came up when Teddi showed Erika RHOBH alum Yolanda Hadid’s “I Love You” music video, which prominently featured a private plane. Erika mentioned that Teddi’s father — who is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee — must have a private plane of his own.
“He rarely lets me ride on his plane, and when he does, it’s filled with [cigarette] smoke,” Teddi quipped.
Erika then pointed out John and Dorit “both smoke” — with Teddi confirming the two even smoke the same brand of cigarettes.
“They could smoke American Spirits [cigarettes], fly around in the [private] plane, talk each other’s ears off,” she envisioned.
Teddi admitted that the first potential snag was that her father’s private plane might not be “big enough” because Dorit is notoriously picky about her air travel options.
Erika was undeterred, telling Teddi, “That’s what we need to do. We need to get your father and Dorit together … This might be a good idea.”
As they debated whether the coupling could work out, Teddi mentioned that Dorit would probably have to give up alcohol entirely if she actually wanted to date John. RHOBH viewers will know that Dorit has a signature cocktail order — a Belvedere Vodka with club soda, three squeezed lemons, served in a short glass, with the “carcass out.”
“[John has] never drank. It’s not like he’s a recovering alcoholic, he’s just not a drinker,” Teddi clarified. “In my opinion, girls drink and they get super chatty. He doesn’t like it.”
