Eagles Share 5-Word Reaction to Saquon Barkley's Historic Season - suong

Saquon Barkley exceeded expectations in his first year as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles franchise.

Through 16 games, Barkley amassed 2,005 rushing yards — earning him the crown as this year's NFL rushing champion.

In addition to his rushing title, Barkley set new Eagles franchise records in both rushing yards and scrimmage yards. He finished the year just 100 yards shy of Eric Dickerson's long-standing all-time NFL rushing record, sitting out Week 18 after Philadelphia clinched the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

Barkley finished the 2024 regular season with 84 more rushing yards than Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry, who collected 1,921 yards over 17 games.

The Eagles reacted to Barkley's 2024 rushing title with a social media post on Monday.

"Add it to the resume," the team wrote on X.

This is by far the best season of Barkley's seven-year NFL career. His next-best season came as a rookie No. 2 overall pick for the New York Giants in 2018, when he led the league with 2,028 scrimmage yards and won Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Though Barkley was unable to add to his rushing total in Week 18, he'll now look to continue his historic season into the NFL playoffs. The Eagles will welcome the No. 7 seed Green Bay Packers for a wild-card game at Lincoln Financial Field this weekend.

Sunday's game will kickoff at 4:30 p.m. EST in Philadelphia.
