The Philadelphia Eagles have done a remarkable job of producing young talent on both sides of the ball in recent years.
In the last two years in general, though, the team has shown that the young talent cultivated is just what they need to get over the hump in other matchups around the league.
Of the top young players, 2023 defensive tackle Moro Ojomo and rookie Jalyx Hunt each recorded a sack in the team's 28-22 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
And received appreciation from their top coach just two days later.
“They have improved,’ said Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on Tuesday. “Mo’s really done a nice job with the snaps that he’s gotten over the last few months. We have total confidence when he’s in there. Nothing changes, and he’s got some athleticism, and he seems to show up. And Jalyx is getting better, too.”
Ojomo was seen as a a project of a defensive tackle as was Hunt when the team made him their third-round pick last April.
The work both have done has allowed for many other stars on the team to excel on their own. And help the youngsters continue in their development as well.
“Moro was moving out there,” Jalen Carter said. “He was ballin’. Sleeping on him is crazy. I saw a (social media) post where somebody said we’re talking about Jalen Carter a lot, but we need to mention the other guys, Milton (Willams), JD (Jordan Davis), Mo, and I totally agree with that. Those boys need some love, too, because I’m not out there by myself.”
The more Ojomo and Hunt play, the more dominant they look.
And that's a great thing for the Birds.
