The Philadelphia Eagles certainly know how to exploit the weaknesses of the New York Giants to inflict maximum pain. And it seems their fan base has joined in, taunting their divisional rivals for letting their best player, Saquon Barkley, go and ultimately land in Philadelphia.
With a stellar victory at 26-18, the Eagles secured their six-game winning streak and improved to an 8-2 while their Giants are sunken at the bottom of the NFC East holding a 2-8 record. The Giants and Eagles have been quite in the news throughout the offseason, not for their longstanding rivalry but for the star running back Barkley.
Since his departure, the Giants have come to regret their decision to part ways with Barkley – a sentiment echoed by owner John Mara during the annual NFL owners’ meeting in October. To their dismay, the two-time Pro Bowler is having a standout season behind the strong offensive line of Philly.
Following the stellar victory, as he arrived NFL on Prime postgame show, the Eagles fan base made to appreciate him with a subtle taunt at his former team for not valuing him. They showered him with loud chants of “Thank you, Giants” to show him their love and appreciation for the excellent year he has been having in Philly.
“That feels amazing. It feels amazing. Last year was a tough year for me mentally,” said Barkley, expressing his gratitude as thousands of Eagles fans stood behind him chanting, “Thank you, Giants.”
His performance in the Thursday Night Football game against the Commanders was another hit as he recorded 146 yards and two rushing touchdowns. He is leading the league in rushing yards at 1,137 and stands for carry at 197.
NFL stars demand apology from Giants for disrespecting Saquon Barkley
After his standout performance in Week 11, former Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant and current linebacker Micah Parsons have also come forward in support of the Penn State product. They called out the Giants for disrespecting the running back and demanded an apology for him.
Bryant took his social media to call out the Giants, particularly owner Mara and General Manager Joe Schoen, writing, “@saquon the NEW YORK GIANTS owe you an apology.”
All jokes aside they giants almost made us believe saquon wasn’t HIM anymore!! That really says a lot!! Daniel jones was paid over saquon! He was worth more to their franchise!! This really says a lot!!
