The Philadelphia Eagles won't be playing their starters in the season finale against the New York Giants on Sunday, but they do welcome one back from injury.
Starting tight end Dallas Goedert has been reinstated to the active roster have a short injured reserve stint after a knee injury late in the Week 13 win cost him the last few weeks.
Before the injury, Goedert had recorded 38 receptions for 441 yards (11.6 avg) and two touchdowns in nine games started this year.
He had been the team's third top target in the passing game behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.
With Goedert returning for the potential start of the playoffs, it means the Eagles will be fully healthy for weeks on the offensive side of the ball.
For a group that is one of the top-rated offensive groups across the league, having a safety valve like Goedert back on the field could help the team in upcoming playoff contests against either the Green Bay Packers or the Washington Commanders.
"He's had a good week," head coach Nick Sirianni said on Friday of Goedert. "Good to get him back out there. He's a heck of a football player. We need him to accomplish the goals that we want to accomplish, and he's had a really good week."
Goedert's return means Philadelphia is prime for a playoff run next week.
Getting through the final week of the regular season is all that is left at the moment currently.
