Dr. Jen Armstrong and her husband, Ryne Holliday, aren’t throwing in the towel just yet.
Despite the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star’s recent divorce filing, a source exclusively tells Page Six that the couple is making an effort to keep their marriage intact.
“It has been a rough few months, but they are really trying to work on their marriage,” the insider says of Armstrong, 44, and Holliday, 42.
The parents of three — who share twins Cece and Vince, 10, and Valor Robert, 9 — reunited in Laguna Beach, Calif., for a family beach day on Sunday.
In photos exclusively obtained by Page Six, Armstrong and Holliday are seen embracing each other while strolling along the shoreline.
Armstrong amended her May 13 filing for legal separation to a divorce, court documents obtained by Page Six show.
The cosmetic MD requested to terminate the court’s ability to award spousal support to both her and Holliday. She also asked for legal and physical custody of their children, with only visitation for Holliday.
Additionally, Armstrong updated their date of separation from Sept. 8, 2021, to April 6, 2022.
A source previously told us that Armstrong had filed for legal separation from Holliday — whom she wed in November 2013 — for the sake of their family.
“There was no specific catalyst for the filing. After their first trial separation in September [2021], Jen and Ryne were still in limbo, and Jen felt like she needed to take this step to improve their family dynamic,” the insider said.
“The issues they’ve been having are the same issues that played out on the show,” the insider continued. “But all is amicable, and they are committed to keeping their kids stable and happy.”
One week before legal docs were filed, Armstrong and Holliday proved their amicable relationship during a trip to Disneyland with their kids.
“What a magical day in Disneyland with the family! ♥️ thank you @disneyland for the amazing tour and day filled with laughs, smiles, and pure magic!!!!” Armstrong captioned a carousel of family photos on Instagram. “Feeling like a little kid again! ♥️”
Back in February, Armstrong told Page Six that her first separation from Holliday was “healing” — after their marital woes were captured on “RHOC” Season 16.
“I’m just going to be honest. We actually separated. We separated and then lived life without each other,” she said at the time. “Sometimes I think you need to get a little shaken up before you really appreciate the other person.”
Armstrong and Holliday memorably fought over a mutual lack of appreciation for their differing roles in raising their children. Time and space ultimately helped the doctor feel optimistic about her future with the stay-at-home dad and business owner.
“Ryne came back and he was very genuine and very kind and has been loving,” she explained. “That’s the person [I fell in love with]. I’ll take that person every day. I’m like, ‘Where’ve you been? Where’ve you been for the last 12 years? We missed you!’”
While another reconciliation remains to be seen, Armstrong told Page Six in March that she was looking forward to a “fresh start” with Holliday after unloading their $6 million Newport Beach, Calif., estate.
“We are hoping our new home is a place for a clean slate … to work on our marriage and family,” she said.
