Dorit Kemsley Weighs In on ‘Iconic’ Scene of Her Smoking in ‘RHOBH’ Season 14 Premiere

Dorit Kemsley became a meme almost immediately after The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 premiered — and now she’s weighing in.

“I was actually being chased by paparazzi,” Dorit, 48, said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Tuesday, November 19. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God. Oh, my God.’ Yeah.”

During the RHOBH season 14 premiere, which aired via Bravo on Tuesday, Dorit lit up a cigarette after news of her separation from husband PK Kemsley went public. Social media was quick to screenshot that moment and post it everywhere.

Andy Cohen noted during Tuesday’s WWHL that this was “the first time” viewers had seen Dorit smoking on the show

“Yeah, I’ve got … you know. Yeah,” Dorit coyly replied, while playing with her hair. Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent was also in attendance and was not shy when sharing her thoughts about the now-viral moment.

“It was the most iconic scene I’ve ever seen,” Lala, 34, said. “Her flying down the Canyon in the G Wagon.”

Lala added, “The Canyon’s no joke, I was impressed.”

Tuesday’s RHOBH episode featured Dorit dealing with the aftermath of her separation from PK. In one scene, she relayed the news to costar Erika Jayne, the only RHOBH cast member who knew before Dorit and PK’s social media announcement. (Dorit and PK announced on May 9 that they were separating after 9 years of marriage. They share kids Jagger, 10, and Phoenix, 8.)

“The bad news, PK and I have agreed to separate. Take it in,” Dorit told her friend. “It’s sad and it’s hard. It’s also no secret, we’ve had a really rough couple of years.”

She noted that there was “no catastrophic event” that caused the end of their marriage, rather it was a culmination of smaller things.

“A week ago, there was a moment, and it was over nothing, and one thing led to another,” Dorit explained. “We sat down like two very mature adults, who love and care about one another and mutually decided that taking some space and separating is the best thing for us.”

Elsewhere in the episode, both Dorit and PK confirmed that their children were not aware of the separation.

“We can be doing things as a family,” Dorit said. “We’re not in a toxic place.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
