Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley is explaining her decision to not tell her children, Jagger, 10, and Phoenix, 8, that she has separated from their father, Paul “PK” Kemsley.
During the January 29 episode of the “RHOBH After Show,” Dorit Kemsley said she is waiting for her children to ask her “specific questions” regarding her relationship with their father before she talks about her separation with them. She said her children’s lack of questions indicates that “they almost don’t really want like a lot of detail” about the situation.
In addition, she said she does not want to bring up the separation as it may upset her son and daughter.
“I want to protect their hearts the best I can,” said Dorit Kemsley.
She also noted that her children will occasionally stay with PK Kemsley in his apartment. According to Dorit Kemsley, her children are used to the situation, as her estranged husband often traveled because of work during their marriage
Dorit Kemsley Said Jagger Asked Her if She & PK Kemsley Were Divorced
During the “RHOBH After Show” episode, Dorit Kemsley noted that her son asked her if she and PK Kemsley were divorced. She assured him that they had not gotten a divorce. In addition, she said she would let him know if that was the case.
She also told Jagger that she and his father are spending “some time apart.”
Dorit Kemsley Made Similar Comments About Her Children on WWHL
During a November 2024 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Dorit Kemsley mentioned that her children do not know about the separation. She said she and PK Kemsley wanted to figure out the exact nature of their marriage before they informed the children.
She also said she is “going to be guided by [her] kids” in this situation.
“If my kids are asking me questions, I’m going to be honest with them. And you kind of learn what they want to hear, what they don’t. What they are comfortable with,” said Dorit Kemsley during the interview.
Dorit Kemsley Addressed if She Would Rekindle Her Relationship With Her Estranged Husband
While speaking to Page Six in November 2024, Dorit Kemsley said she is not at the point where she feels comfortable reconciling with her estranged husband.
“For PK and I to even consider reconciliation, we would have to do work. I think no matter what there is work to be done,” said Dorit Kemsley to Page Six.
She also said that she and her estranged husband “need to remain amicable” even if they divorce, for the sake of their children.
