Donny Osmond's nephew Jared has slammed The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for turning him into a villain and spinning his relationship with newbie Britani Bateman.
Jared Osmond, 54, spoke exclusively with DailyMail.com following his appearance on the Bravo show, which has led him to receiving 'nasty' messages from fans.
'I'm being absolutely hammered right now. I wake up to about 200 DMs just filled with hate,' the real estate developer revealed.
'I take it with a grain of salt. And I try to answer some of them, even the worst ones. I always point out to these full-grown adults that are coming at me, that you've taken one episode, for example, the dinner I had with Britani.
'They edited a two-hour dinner down into three minutes, and then it looks like I'm cutting her off and putting a pin in her opinion. That's not how it went,' he said.

During the October 16 episode, viewers watched as Osmond met up with Bateman, 51, for dinner after she had broken up with him and he was seeking closure.
Prior to this, the friend of the cast had learned during the Milwaukee trip that Osmond was messaging Angie Katsanevas' brow girl – which Osmond revealed was when he and Bateman were separated at that point.
Bateman called him 'manipulative' in a confessional and called him out for not posting photos of her on his social media, and rather referring to her as his 'best friend.'
After filming the meet-up with his ex, Osmond told DailyMail.com that he was 'done' filming. However, a producer had tried to get him to attend Katsanevas' anniversary party where Bateman would be attending with a new man named Aaron.
'The main producer called me, and she goes, Jared, you need to be here. I was in bed. It's 10 o'clock at night, and I said, no way. I am so done after what you guys did to me at the dinner. I'm not doing this.'
Moments later, he had a change of heart and called the producer back after she made the point that none of the girls had met him. It also helped that Whitney Rose's husband Justin had texted him - just like viewers saw in the October 23 episode - to attend the party knowing Osmond lived only 10 minutes away.
The Osmond family member told DailyMail.com that he was not bothered by Bateman's new date, and, in fact, enjoyed connecting with the other cast including Heather Gay, whom he's 'become really good friends' with and Mary Cosby, whom he has 'a ton of respect for' and also calls her a 'really great friend today.'
Watching the episodes back, Osmond says that he 'definitely got thrown under the bus' and he regrets ever filming.

'I don't think Britani understood the damage she was doing when she talked poorly…It's affected my children. One of the things that Britani and I talked about, and she promised my children, is that she wouldn't disparage me on national television,' he explained.
'I humbly admit, because I'm not a narcissist, that I've made mistakes and I have to own those things. I never cheated on Britani, but I had one foot out the door at times because I was nervous. And one of the things I hate about the show the most, quite honestly, is I think it changed Britani.'
When asked for an explanation on how she's changed, Osmond reasoned, 'She's a lot stronger, but she's also had all these people in her ear.'
He noted that the reality star also gets 'hundreds of DMs a day telling her what an evil person' he is. 'I mean, it's a small town here in Salt Lake City. Everybody has an opinion about me now. Everybody has an opinion about the Osmond family,' he said.
Donny Osmond, himself, recently made comments to E! about how he understands being on TV is 'a little bit risqué, but to each his own.'
Jared shared, 'He and I talk all the time. Look, my family knows. I mean, I'm not Mormon anymore. And I'm a little bit of a black sheep in the family, but I'm not the only one. And we have enough experience in this family to know what's real and what's not.'

He continued, 'My Aunt Marie called me one night and just said, Are you doing okay? I'm like, yeah, I'm fine. She knows nobody gives me a hard time, but it's a little embarrassing to get painted the way that I am. I have always prided myself on being a really good man.'
Bateman and Osmond had initially bonded in July 2023 when their exes were dating – his ex-girlfriend was dating the RHOSLC star's ex-husband, John Scott Underwood.
DailyMail.com previously reported Bateman's alleged abusive past with Underwood in which he 'demanded sex several times a day' and allegedly controlled her.
Bateman and Osmond became 'instant friends,' but then over the next few weeks, became 'very, very close,' he recalled.
'What nobody knows is that Britani and I, when I agreed to come on the show, I told her I didn't want the exposure because of my last name, because of how terrible my divorce has been in this state of Utah and all the things that have gone on.
Bateman joined The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City this year
'I said, Look, if I'm going to go on the show, I need to go on and not drag our love life on the show. And she agreed. She said, No problem. Just come on, do one episode and then we'll just be best friends.
'Unfortunately, I didn't realize that she immediately was going to tell the world that we've been dating.'
Osmond supported Bateman because he knew how important it was for her to appear on Real Housewives and to 'advance her career as an actor and singer.'
The Salt Lake City man has confirmed he and Bateman have broken up and that he's now single. However, he still loves her and misses her.
'Honestly, Britani is a total saint. She's the sweetest woman, and I still love her even though we're broken up. I love her. I love her with all my heart. I quite honestly love her and miss her,' he told DailyMail.com.
Fans of RHOSLC will not get to see the two reunited on screen because he said that he turned down the opportunity to attend the upcoming reunion.
'They've already asked me to be on the reunion, and if we're not together, I will not be making an appearance. I don't know what value that would be to me or her for me to come on,' he spilled.
'I'm sure there's a lot of questions they would have, and they'd love to see the controversy, but I'm not sure what value I would bring to the reunion show.'
New episodes of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City air Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
