STEVE McDonald gets heartbreaking news about wife Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street.
The character was left gutted earlier this year when he discovered his spouse had been having an affair with his sporting idol, former footballer Tommy Orpington.
Steve said he could forgive his wife, but she dealt a further blow by saying she was 'bored' in their marriage and wasn't in love with him any more.
Tracy then headed off to join Tommy in Spain, where he had landed a new job as a football coach.
Within a few weeks of her departure, Steve decided to get back in the dating game and join an app.
He ended up going on a handful of dates, with some being a complete disaster, but then he met Demi.
The pair immediately hit it off and agreed to see each other again, with Steve - who has been married seven times before to five different women - convinced she could be 'The One'.
In upcoming Coronation Street scenes, Steve reads an article about Weatherfield County’s plans to honour Tommy Orpington by commissioning a bust of him.
Steve meets with Demi and proceeds to slag off Tommy, and when Demi asks why he hates him so much, Steve spills the beans about Tracy’s affair.
Later in the week, Steve shows Tim some pictures from Tracy’s socials of her paragliding over the Med with Tommy.
The situation leaves Tim feeling sorry for his best mate.
But in a happier turn of events, when Tim reveals that Demi is an estate agent in Hale Barns, his wife Sally’s in awe and immediately lifts the friendship ban.
Sally’s later thrilled when Steve invites her and Tim to join them for dinner.
Are things finally looking up for Steve?
While things have got off to a good start with Demi, Coronation Street fans actually think another Weatherfield resident would be a good match for him.
