Detroit Lions Fan Favorite, Offensive Lineman Dan Skipper Resigning With Team

The Detroit Lions built their reputation as one of the NFL's toughest teams under the guidance of head coach Dan Campbell, reinforced by offensive and defensive lines among the league's strongest.

Detroit's offensive line helped pave the way for a rushing attack that ranked third in the NFL, led by an unlikely cast of characters that played exceptionally well together.

On Monday, general manager Brad Holmes and the rest of the Lions' front office made a move that is almost certain to please fans of the venerable Motor City based franchise, with the signing of a player who perhaps embodied coach Campbell's mission as well as any other.

Skipper is reportedly expected back with the Lions on a one-year deal, according to a report from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

The 6-foot-9, 330 pound Skipper signed as an undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys out of Arkansas in 2017 and did not see regular season game action until 2023 with the Lions.

He played in all 17 games last season prior to his 11 game season with the Lions in 2023.

Skipper helped lead Detroit to a 15-2 record, becoming a favorite of both Lions fans and Campbell as he showcased the grit and toughness that the city is known for across the world.
