DENISE Richards only filmed her new reality show because she has become more ‘desperate for cash’ after ex Charlie Sheen dropped all child support payments, a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
Charlie, 59, previously took Denise, 54, to court - where a judge ruled in 2021 that he did not need to continue to pay a single dollar in child support for the two daughters they share together.
At the time, Denise was still earning a hefty paycheck from Bravo as a cast member on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills however, around the time Charlie’s child support payments stopped, she also exited the reality series.
She had remained more out of the spotlight the past few years - until her return with her own show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things - which premieres on Tuesday, March 4th on Bravo.
A source close to the former Bond girl claimed that the “only reason” she’s participating in the new reality show is for the cash.
“The only reason she’s doing the reality show is the same reason she’s doing her Only Fans - she needs the money.
“She never in a million years thought Charlie would file to stop paying child support and she was blindsided when the court ruled against her.
"Then Bravo let her go from RHOBH and suddenly all her biggest incomes were off the table. She still acts and gets money from smaller projects but it’s nowhere near what she was making 5 plus years ago.
“She’s been more cash strapped and she probably wouldn’t have even done the show if she was in a better place financially.
“Denise only filmed it for the paycheck.”
Although since filming the show, the insider added that Denise is “happy” with the outcome as she is please she’s able to “control her own narrative and be the author of her own story” - Where as on RHOBH, she was on an ensemble and felt she was “not able to show who she truly is.”
Denise shares daughters Sami, 20, and Lola, 19, with ex Charlie - although the girls were just 14 and 13 when the actor first filed to terminate all child support.
In October 2021, a judge made the decision in Los Angeles County court to adjust the child support payment to "zero dollars per month" commencing back from August 1, 2018.
At the time, a source told People that Denise was “blindsided” by the court ruling.
Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen's rarely-seen daughter Sami, 19, shares TikTok about bold new job
"Charlie filed two years ago and kept pushing the court date, so Denise was very surprised that it happened yesterday while she is out of town filming.
“She was blindsided. Now he's manipulating the situation. Lola does not live with Charlie.
“She lives with both of her parents and stays with Charlie when Denise is out of town. When Denise is back, Lola will be with her.
“This is very disappointing for Denise, but also not surprising. Charlie is pitting the girls against their mother, which is horrible,” the informant claimed to the outlet.
A the time, Sami had made TikTok videos that alleged she moved out of Denise’s home - claiming she was feeling “trapped” at her mom’s place.
The mother-daughter pair later revealed that they didn’t communicate with each other for “over a year.”
