Davante Adams Bashes Raiders Unprovoked Yet Again - suong

The Las Vegas Raiders are in a very different place than they were last year. Pete Carroll is the head coach now, and Geno Smith is the starting quarterback.

However, Davante Adams continues to take shots at the Raiders. He recently spoke about how there was a dark cloud over the franchise when he was there, and that was just the latest in a long series of shots he’s taken at the team.

Well, he still wasn’t done there. Adams was on “The Pivot Podcast,” and host Ryan Clark brought up his Raiders tenure. He used the opportunity to criticize the franchise again.

“So I started to feel like a sense of helplessness, I guess you could say, where typically I could walk around warmups and feel like I can own that place. Like I can see people looking at me and I can love it. Like that type of attention … the DC for the Raiders (Patrick Graham) used to slap my hand in warmups every day and say, ‘Box office. They came to see you.’

“And when he say that, that would get my blood going to the point where I was like, ‘I need to go sit down somewhere.’ You know what I’m saying? That’s my whole mindset, like I just want to be me until (God) decided, not anybody else.”

Adams Addresses Fans Who Think He’s a Diva

When Adams joined the Raiders, he spoke at length about how he grew up a fan of the team and loved the franchise. That’s a big reason why it’s so confusing that he continues to speak ill of them.

Former quarterback Derek Carr got a raw deal from the team and hasn’t said anything negative to the media about his experience. This has led to many Raiders fans rooting against Adams and labeling him a diva. The star wide receiver resents that label.

“I see that still right now,” Adams said. “And it hurts because, as a person who’s a good guy at heart, you want people to think and feel good things about you at all times, especially when that’s who you are, you know, to your core. So it would be a shame if people walk around thinking that I’m some diva or, you know, looking for attention or whatever it is that they think that’s not accurate. So it does bother me to a certain extent, but I got to this point in my life by not caring truly what people think about me and not letting that have any bearing on how I move forward.”

Adams Could End Up Playing With Jimmy Garoppolo Again

Adams came to the Rams in hopes of being able to have a big role on a winning team. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is known to give heavy targets to his top wide receiver.

However, Stafford is dealing with a back issue that might linger into the season. There’s a chance that Adams will be catching passes from Jimmy Garoppolo this season.

It’s no secret that Adams didn’t enjoy his time playing with Garoppolo in Las Vegas. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly he turns on Los Angeles if he runs into similar issues.
