Danny Jones had to put up one hell of a fight to get the attention of his wife Georgia when they first met.
The McFly star, 38, was immediately besotted with the blonde beauty when they first crossed paths back in 2008, but I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! star Danny had to put the work in to capture Georgia's heart after she turned him down countless times over the space of a year before she finally decided to go on a date with him.
The former Miss England beauty, 38, who shares six-year-old son Cooper with Danny, opened up about the beginning of her love story with Danny back in December while he was in the I'm A Celebrity jungle. During an appearance on the Never Have I Ever with Joel Dommett and Hannah Cooper, Georgia admitted that when she first met Danny, it was far from love at first sight - because she actually really disliked him.
However, it was the complete opposite for Danny, who immediately felt sparks with Georgia - but it was clear the feeling wasn't mutual. "He was a bit of a d*ck, and I didn’t really like him," Georgia told the podcast before revealing that Danny tried for an entire year to convince her to go on a date with him. "He tried for a year. I do like to drop that into conversation every now and again. He wanted me for a year."
Georgia then shared her reasons for turning Danny down so many times, as she admitted: "I said no. I was totally chilled when we went on the date. I didn't really want to. My mum went, 'Oh darling, what have you got to lose? Go on, go and enjoy yourself.' I said he's probably going to be a bit of a top shagger, isn't he. I just assumed. I treated him mean, kept him keen - without realising. I didn't know I was doing that."
After finally agreeing to go on a date with Danny, Georgia soon realised that her perceptions about him were wrong, and that date turned into another date, and another date, until Danny ultimately got down on one knee in 2013 and popped the all important question. A year later, Danny and Georgia tied the knot alongside their nearest and dearest, and later down the line, they welcomed their son Cooper.
Following their exciting love story, Georgia admitted a couple of months ago that her love life with Danny had stalled slightly as the pressures of parenthood and their careers have taken over. Speaking on the podcast, Georgia joked that her and Danny's sex life was hindered due to the McFly star's love of wearing mouth tape in bed at night.
It comes after a video emerged this week of Danny, of Bolton, Greater Manchester, kissing TV personality Maura Higgins at a BRITS after party. He has been condemned by fans, who expressed their ire on social media. Danny's kiss with Maura, with whom he was in I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! last year, has caused a stir across social media.
One of Danny's fans commented: "Then he went and cheated on his wife." Another echoed: "Wtf Danny. You are married with a child. Fans are meant to respect you but how can they when you don't even respect yourself." Maura, 34, who has recently split from The Only Way is Essex personality Pete Wicks, also faced an Instagram backlash. Fans expressed their disappointment at the star, who was in Love Island in 2019.
