Dak Prescott has been heavily criticized in the Cowboys ' home games, things are going from bad to worse and they have not won in Arlington in three games played, but in all the losses, they have conceded more than 40 points.
And during the bye week, he got engaged to Sarah Jane Ramos, something that earned him more finger-pointing, and now he has lashed out at the fans who visit the team's training facilities on tours.
Dak Prescott doesn't want fan tours at The Star
Several current Cowboys players opposed the idea of tours at The Star, Dallas' training facility, including Dak Prescott, who said he has no problem with the presence of fans, but it's not in the best interest of the team's peace of mind.
"On the one hand, this is all I know. I'm not going to let a couple of people walking around the building distract me. I'm present where I am," Prescott said Thursday, via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
"I think, honestly, it's an excuse. What's the difference in [the media] coming into the locker room and talking? Guys complain about that, too, and I don't understand it.
"It's about being professional; some things you have to deal with. Obviously, I guess the nature of this organization, the tours are probably 10 times more than other places, yes other places are doing them.... You have to accept it, honestly. You can either go through and have a negative mindset about it and let it ruin your day, or you can be grateful to be in an organization that people want to see."
The importance of the fans to the Cowboys
Prescott also compared touring to playing in front of a sellout crowd at AT&T Stadium, and that's because this year the majority of the team's fans have turned on the quarterback.
"If that's the case, then the crowd is a distraction when you're on the field," Prescott said .
"It's the NFL. It's a business that has exactly those reasons why this game is entertaining; that people want to watch it; that you have the fans that you have and you can build the relationships.
"If you get distracted by that, then you get distracted by the fans in whatever stadium you walk into."
