Cynthia Bailey Blames Producers for Her Dropping One Particular RHOA Bombshell

Cynthia Bailey held a peach on Real Housewives of Atlanta for 11 seasons. Still, Cynthia couldn’t stay away, returning as an official friend of the cast for Season 16. She wasn’t the only RHOA alum to return to the franchise. Phaedra Parks also returned for the upcoming season. And her return has made Cynthia reflect on a very uncomfortable moment while filming Season 7 of RHOA.

Cynthia Bailey was reportedly told to “drop the bomb” by production

Let’s be clear. Cynthia was very upset when her friend, Kenya Moore, twirled off of RHOA during filming for Season 16. “Of course, I am so saddened and heartbroken that she had an early departure from the season,” Cynthia previously explained. “No one ever saw that coming.”

However, Phaedra earned her peach in a mere two weeks of filming. That’s how the old-school housewives do it! I really hope that means that Season 16 will be juicy.

Meanwhile, Cynthia reflected on an uncomfortable moment between her and Phaedra. Cynthia was interviewed for the Dark Side of Reality TV, airing on Vice. Cynthia stated, “So this was one of the worst filming experiences of my life. My castmate at the time, Phaedra Parks, she and her husband Apollo [Nida] were going through all kind of craziness in their marriage. Apollo was good friends with my husband Peter [Thomas].” She continued, “Apollo told Peter that Phaedra was cheating on him with a guy named Mr. Chocolate. You can’t make this stuff up. And then of course the producers were like ‘You have to tell the girls.’ So I’m like, ‘Oh my god,’” Cynthia added.

“I’m so stressed out about it,” Cynthia explained. “I’m literally praying for a power outage, anything to happen so I don’t have to say this.” She continued, “I’m getting texts on my phone, and people in the corner with the teleprompter, like ‘Drop the bomb, drop the bomb, drop the bomb. Bring up Mr. Chocolate,’” she said.

Of course, once Cynthia dropped the bomb, Phaedra wasn’t happy. She “was so pissed. I don’t like bringing hurtful things to people. But unfortunately, on a reality show, we have to talk about it and that’s just how it works,” Cynthia stated.

As always, Cynthia has more irons in the fire. She is co-hosting a podcast with Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Crystal Kung Minkoff called Humble Brag with Crystal and Cynthia.
