During Season 10, Episode 7 of Southern Charm, which aired January 23, Craig Conover opened up about struggles in his relationship with then-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo.
The conversation went down while he was having a grill night with Shep Rose at his new, perfect-for-entertaining Charleston house.
“You have been itching for this white picket fence existence. Now you have it!” Shep said after Craig turned on his outdoor fireplace with the touch of a button.
But really, he didn’t have it all.
“I think everyone knows that, like, if it was up to me we would just get engaged,” Craig explained to his friend. “But she changes her mind a lot about stuff. One day she’ll text me, ‘Let’s build a f--king farm house in the middle of nowhere.’ Or, you know, ‘I’m moving to Charleston!’ And then she’ll have a good day in New York and be like ‘I love it up here.’”
“Is that hard to hear?” Shep asked.
“It gets confusing,” Craig responded.
In a confessional, he shared more of his thoughts. “Me waiting a couple of years to have a kid? Not a big deal. But what I’m risking is … what if Paige wants to turn those couple years into ten years?”
Back with Shep, Craig admitted this was all just a part of life. “It’s a bunch of decisions and compromises,” he added.
