Craig Conover responded to remarks his ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo made about him at the end of the “Summer House” premiere.
Two months after his breakup with DeSorbo was made public, Conover appeared on the “Tamron Hall Show” and said he was disappointed by the turn the split had taken and only wanted the best for his ex.
“At the end of the day, she fell out of love, or I wasn’t the right person for her,” the “Southern Charm” star explained to Hall in the interview set to air on February 17. “I think that’s OK, well it is OK. If someone’s not right for you, you only live once. Go find your person.”
Conover added that he is a “pretty positive person” and would rather focus on the good that came to him and DeSorbo during their three-year relationship. “I’m just grateful for the three years of a relationship that we had,” he said. “It was really great. I’m 100 times a better version of myself now than I was, and I think she is too.”

Conover’s comments to Hall came a few days after a bombshell aired on the season 10 premiere of “Summer House.” The episode ended with DeSorbo saying she felt betrayed by Conover for not defending her against rumors that she cheated on him.
“I’m like, ‘Craig, what are you talking about? Like, I feel like you’re so betraying me right now,’” DeSorbo told co-stars Lindsay Hubbard and Amanda Batula in the pickup scene that was shot sometime after her split from Conover. “You’re gonna let people say that I’m a cheater? I caught you texting two [expletive] in the course of our relationship,” she claimed.
Conover told Hall that DeSorbo was hit with “backlash” for their breakup and filmed that scene later. “That wasn’t part of our breakup. That was filmed later on,” he told Hall, adding, “I think it was a retaliatory scene.”
He also claimed he was very “loyal” to DeSorbo and added, “So I’ve never cheated.”
Conover’s post-breakup scene on “Southern Charm” featured him claiming that he had bought an engagement ring for DeSorbo just before their split. “It’s weird to mourn someone that’s still alive,” he told pals Shep Rose and Austen Kroll in the “Southern Charm” pickup scene.

DeSorbo first announced her breakup from Conover on her “Giggly Squad” podcast on December 30 and hinted that it was mutual and amicable. “I think we will remain friends,” she said at the time.
After being hit with rumors that she cheated on Conover, she gave an update on the February 3 episode of “Giggly Squad” to express dismay that no one from his side came to her defense. “No one was cheated on,” she said. “I never physically cheated on him, emotionally cheated on him. …I did not move on with some new guy. I am single, I don’t have a new boyfriend.”
On February 6, Conover appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” and told host Andy Cohen that he remained silent because he didn’t want to be “involved” in commenting on the rumors.
“I got broken up with,” he said. “I’m the ex-boyfriend, moving on with my life. I’m not going to get sucked into the mud with them. Her cast … like, commenting on how I am grieving and that, I’m sorry that I’m not reading Reddit everyday, getting on there and defending her. Like, I never said you cheated, so I’m not a part of this.”
