FRISCO - It's about as large a blockbuster NBA trade as you're going to see, with aftershocks ranging so far and wide that the reflections and reviews of it won't be limited to just the basketball world.
At all.
To wit, the late-late Saturday swap that sees Luka Doncic leave the Dallas Mavericks to join LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers is a puzzler to all, including Luka's fellow Big D headliner Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys.
While the Mavs are trying to explain away the swap, which nets Dallas oft-injured star Anthony Davis - "conditioning and a supermax contract'' is the buzz - even the most keen observer is left to ask ...
"So the Mavs are smart? And the Lakers are dumb?'' ... because it sure doesn't seem like L.A. is too concerned about any negatives regarding Luka, at 25 already a five-time All-Star.
And yes, Parsons is just as surprised as everyone else.
The Los Angeles Lakers had just registered a 128-112 win at the New York Knicks when the shocking news broke across the NBA world ... in what some are calling "the biggest trade in NBA history.''
The full trade? The Lakers get Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris.
The Mavericks get Anthony Davis, Max Christie and the 2029 Lakers first-round pick.
To help facilitate, the Utah Jazz get Jalen Hood-Schifino, a 2025 Clippers second-round pick and a 2025 Mavericks second-round pick.
And Micah, speaking for all of us, writes on Twitter ...
"Yoo wtf going on in Dallas?"

What's weird about this well, one of the many things) is Dallas GM Nico Harrison insisting that the Mavs are now closer to an NBA title with Davis than they were with Luka ... even though it was just last summer that Luka literally led the Mavs to an NBA Finals appearance.
Interestingly, Parsons - a frequent visitor to the AAC for Mavs games - recently did an interview in which he predicted great things for this edition of the team.
"I think they're already close," Parsons said. "They've got a great group of guys. They added a couple of pieces this offseason. So, it's going to be a very interesting team. I think they can actually do it. Luka is special. ...''
He sure is. And the Lakers, with a new duo of Luka and LeBron, recognize it. ...
While in Dallas, the mood is "WTF?''
