The Dallas Cowboys have struggled offensively to start the season. With time running out to turn things around, the Cowboys could look to trade for a playmaker as a last-ditch effort.
While listing players the Miami Dolphins should trade, FanSided's Zach Pressnell suggested a trade that lands 32-year-old running back Raheem Mostert in Dallas.
"If Mostert was moved, say to the Cowboys, he would be at the top of their committee of running backs. There are multiple teams around the league that could use an additional back that has the potential to play at the level that Mostert did last season," wrote Pressnell.
Mostert ran for 1,000 yards for the first time last season, despite sharing a heavy workload with De'Von Achane. Mostert struggled with injuries early this year but is healthy again.
Dallas has the least rushing yards in the National Football League and needs a boost on offense. Mostert could bring an explosive element both on the ground and in the passing game. His numbers this year don't stand out on paper, but the Dolphins' injuries have played a role.
"Last year, Mostert carried the ball 209 times for 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns, ranking as one of the top running backs in the league," wrote Pressnell. "This year, the production has dropped off, but a combination of Tua Tagovailoa's injury and the break out of De'Von Achane has caused this."
Mostert signed a one-year, $4 million extension with the Dolphins after his break-out year. However, the Dolphins' current state and early struggles could mean Mostert could be on the move.
