Chris Kreider displays his true colours in a shocking way: Excited to be out of New York

Former Rangers veteran, Chris Kreider, recently revealed his true colours towards the organization, as he has ultimately admitted he is excited to be out of New York.

The New York Rangers shockingly departed with their longtime veteran, Chris Kreider, on June 12, in an unexpected trade.

Now, the 34-year old will undergo a fresh start with his new organization, the Anaheim Ducks, as he joins a completely different environment.

However, rather than most veterans, who are already on established teams, Kreider joins the Ducks, a franchise that is filled with young talent and progressing through an ongoing rebuild.

With that being said, the vet will most likely step into a leadership role for these younger players, and his presence as a mentor will be used in a much different manner compared to his time with the New York Rangers organization.

And although this is saddening to Rangers fans, new insight has unfolded regarding Kreider's feelings regarding his departure from New York, and he is seemingly excited to begin this new chapter.

Despite the massive adjustment for Kreider, after spending 13 seasons in The Big Apple, he is seemingly excited to begin this next chapter of his career within the National Hockey League, due to the culture the Ducks are building.

«It's an exciting time for me and my family,» Kreider stated. «We are looking forward to joining the Ducks organization Really looking forward to getting out there and just getting to work with that group. There's a really good energy around the whole organization. It's a really exciting time.»

Additionally, Kreider's transitions from the Rangers to the Ducks was smoother due to the fact he will be joining three of his former New York teammates, Jacob Trouba, Frank Vatrano, and Ryan Strome in Anaheim.

In fact, his former teammates helped convince this veteran to waive his no-trade clause to land in Anaheim.

«It's massive,» Kreider said on how crucial it's been to have three former teammates in Anaheim already. «I was picking their brains a lot going through the whole process, figuring out if it would be a good spot. Luckily I had a little bit of control of where I was going. It seemed like a great fit. Those guys spoke so highly of what they are building there in Anaheim They've been great resources.»
