Chicago Bears' Trade Suggestion Would Land $57 Million Weapon for Caleb Williams

The Chicago Bears have been very busy this offseason. One of their clear priorities has been to add more talent around young franchise quarterback Caleb Williams.Chicago Bears' Ben Johnson explains how Caleb Williams will star in new offense

So far this offseason on the offensive side of the football, the Bears have added three key pieces to their offense line. Jonah Jackson and Joe Thuney were acquired via trades. Those two moves were backed up by the free agency addition of Drew Dalman.

Also, Chicago signed wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus, running back Travis Homer, and wide receiver Devin Duvernay.

Could the Bears still be in the market to make a major trade this offseason to bring in yet another weapon for Williams? One idea has been suggested.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams (18) looks on against the Cincinnati Bengals during the first quarter at Soldier Field.

CBS Sports analyst Cody Benjamin has named Chicago as one of the top potential trade suitors for Philadelphia Eagles' veteran tight end Dallas Goedert.

"Cole Kmet is fairly accomplished at tight end in the Windy City, but he's also had bouts of inconsistency," Benjamin wrote. "Goedert could help offset the loss of Keenan Allen. And he's got a probable backer in the front office, as assistant general manager Ian Cunningham worked for the Eagles when Goedert was drafted."

Goedert would be a very intriguing addition for the Bears. He has been a key part of the Eagles' offense over the last seven years.

During the 2024 campaign, the 30-year-old tight end played in 10 games. He caught 42 passes for 496 yards and two touchdowns.

Depending on what Philadelphia would be asking for in return, this is a move that would provide Williams with an important veteran security blanket.
