Chase Lemacks Was “Surprised” By How Much Daisy Kelliher And Gary King Dreaded His Return To ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’: “I’m Not That Bad”

Chase Lemacks was “surprised” by Daisy Kelliher and Gary King‘s reaction to hearing he’d be returning to Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

When Captain Glenn Shephard informed the duo of the crew’s latest addition in last week’s episode, both seemed less than enthusiastic. King complained that Lemacks “thinks he knows more than he does,” while Kelliher said the deckhand “kind of annoys” her.

Lemacks, alongside Chef Cloyce Martin, appeared on Monday night’s (Dec. 9) episode of Watch What Happens Live, where he revealed how he felt after watching the scene.

“I was a little surprised by their reaction,” he told host Andy Cohen. “I understand we weren’t the best of friends last season, but I don’t really understand why they were dreading me coming back.”

“I do my job, I like both of them. I just had drinks with Daisy about a week ago in London,” he continued. “I think it was a bit of an overreaction. I’m not that bad.”

Lemacks added that he’s still close friends with former Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Alex Propson, who was seated in the Watch What Happens Live audience, as well as Mads Herrera.

“I keep in touch with everyone but we all move around a lot so it’s tough,” Lemacks said.

In a new interview with DECIDER, Lemacks opened up about King’s mixed feelings regarding his return to Parsifal III.

“To be honest, in life, you are going to have people who dislike you. If I had to choose somebody to dislike me, I’m okay with that person being Gary,” he said. “I respect the guy because he’s my boss and my superior, but I’m there to do my job. I’m there to work hard and be friendly to people.”

According to Lemacks, he didn’t hesitate one bit to come back to Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

“I love doing the show. I love working on Parsifal. I love working with Glenn,” he said. “It was really nice to see some old friends and meet some new crew members, too. I love the energy of it. So, I was happy to be back.”

Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
