Even though he is set for an $18 million payday in 2024, Dallas Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb wants more -- and that is proving to be a big problem for owner Jerry Jones, who is in charge of all the team's personnel matters.
The wideout market is as competitive -- and as expensive -- as ever before, and Lamb wants in after posting career-best numbers in 2023. The Cowboys' reticence in negotiations has convinced Lamb that holding out and staying away from the team is his best option, but the 2024 NFL season begins in two weeks' time and Lamb still doesn't have an extension in place amid his looming free agency.
Lamb's phone is not ringing
In a surprise update posted to social media, Lamb said he is "still waiting on that phone call" from his representation, confirming that a new contract is done with Dallas. In the meantime, the All-Pro pass-catcher continues to "grind" and train on his own as he seeks "the best version" of himself.
