Below Deck's Captain Lee Rosbach runs a tight ship, so he already knows how his former chief stew, Kate Chastain, will navigate first-time motherhood.
"I have no doubt she's going to be a great mom," Captain Lee recently told PEOPLE, adding that he "couldn't be more elated" for the Below Deck alum. "She's taken on a big challenge, but she's more than up to it," Lee said. "And I don't think I've ever seen her this happy."
After her little one arrives, Kate — who said she'll be raising the baby "solo" — will have all hands on deck with her loved ones, including Captain Lee, who added that he and his wife Mary Anne Rosbach will be there for whatever she needs. There's one thing that might make him go AWOL though. "I don't do diapers," he admitted. "I'll do a lot of things, but diapers aren't one of them."

Captain Lee isn't the only one who thinks Kate will be a "great mom." During Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen’s December 13 episode, host Andy Cohen used the same phrase while expressing his excitement for the mother-to-be. Elsewhere in the WWHL episode, The Traitors cast member revealed that her due date is May 8, that she knows the sex and name, and that having a baby is something she’s always wanted. "I think being a chief stew really trained me for it," she said, prompting Andy to reply, "I do too."
Days later, Kate gave another pregnancy update, telling E! News that she's been feeling “so great” thus far, and she also acknowledged that life will be totally different after her baby is born next year. "Honestly, I like sleeping in and I'm also kind of lazy and selfish, so I feel like that’s gonna be an adjustment," she joked to the outlet. "But I just figure if I love this child as much as I love my dog, everything will be fine, and people are assuring me that I will."
It certainly seems likely that Captain Lee is one of those people.
