THE BACHELORETTE Jenn Tran has opened up about her mother and father's tumultuous relationship and frequent fights during her difficult childhood.
But now, in court documents exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, more can be revealed about her family’s past, and her parents’ messy divorce.
Jenn's final two contestants will presumably get to formally meet them during the show’s final dates – except for her father, Son Tran, whom she does not have a relationship with.
The 26-year-old Bachelorette star is close to her mom, Trinh Tran, as well as her brother James, 35
Prior to becoming the first Asian American lead, she was part of Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor, in which viewers first learned about her childhood trauma.

The couple were married for 31 years until Trinh filed for divorce in January 2014.
According to the court papers, her parents were officially divorced in March 2015.
A judgment was entered after Trinh “failed to appear in court on two separate occasions” and, thus, was ordered to pay “all interpreter’s costs.”
Jenn’s father was ordered to pay his ex $958 per month in “open durational alimony,” meaning there was no set end date for the payments.
FAMILY MATTERS
Their former marital home was in the process of being sold at the time, so the terms set forth by the judge was that the net proceeds would be “equally divided” subject to a $40,000 hold from Jenn’s father’s share and a $20,000 hold from her mother’s share “for Jennifer’s education.”

“After each child obtaining all available loans, grants, scholarships and aid, each parent shall be responsible for college costs in proportion to income” with 35 percent coming from Trinh and 65 percent coming from Son.
The docs state, “Each party shall be involved in the process of selecting colleges and neither party shall unreasonably withhold consent.”
It has been reported that Jenn attended the University of Pittsburgh for two years and then transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she graduated in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology.

Child support, per the divorce papers, was to be determined after the sale of their marital home. However, parenting time was ordered to be “reasonable and liberal” with the father, who is now estranged from Jenn, “having at least 52 overnights per year.”
In addition to spousal and child support, the reality star’s parents were responsible for Jenn and James’ car insurance (35 percent would be owed by her mom and 65 percent from her father).
Jenn grew up in a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home in New Jersey.
The 1,800-square-foot home was listed for sale in January 2015 and eventually sold two years later for $430k.
The court docs, obtained by The U.S. Sun, revealed that Jenn’s mom was asked to “immediately return” all paintings she had removed from the property, and both parties were “barred from removing anything else from the residence” since they were to “equally divide the contents.”
According to records and the promo video of Jenn’s background, the TV personality’s mother and brother have since moved to the Boston, Massachusetts area.
It appears that her father has relocated to another city in New Jersey.
'ALWAYS FELT UNWANTED'
Jenn previously shared on Joey's season of The Bachelor that her parents fought a lot when she was growing up, describing it as a "traumatic" experience.
“As a kid, my parents’ relationship got really bad and they were fighting all the time and didn’t necessarily try to hide their fighting," she revealed.
"As a result, I kind of had to take care of myself and it was a really traumatic place to grow up in."
On The Bachelor, she also admitted that her father had been living in the basement for nearly six years due to her parents' tumultuous relationship.
While it's unclear what exactly led to Jenn and Son's estrangement, the star said that she felt like her father didn't want to be in her life, so she stopped having a relationship with him.
"I’d always felt so unwanted by my dad. I never felt truly loved,” she confessed.
While filming The Bachelorette, Jenn continued opening up about her upbringing. She shared with her fans, “I am so incredibly proud of my Vietnamese background and where I came from. My parents came over here with practically nothing in their pockets, no career.
“They had a career over there, but to come over here and start all over and try and make something of themselves is something that I’m so proud of.
“I’ll never forget how hard it was for them to build themselves up and give me the life that I have today.”
Jenn continues her journey to finding love in season 21 of The Bachelorette.
