Brittany Cartwright Talks 'The Valley,' Relationship With Jax Taylor

Brittany Cartwright got real about her dating life.

Months after filing for divorce from her husband Jax Taylor,  “The Valley” star said her ideal mate would be comfortable with her role on reality TV—but that doesn’t mean she’s eyeing fellow Bravo reality stars.

“I would never say never,” Cartwright told Stylecaster when asked if she’d date within the Bravoverse. ”I have no idea what I would do, but whoever comes into my life would have to be comfortable with how open my life is, because it is on reality TV.”

“It would have to be somebody who was comfortable with that type of lifestyle,” the mom of one added. “I don’t really know if I’m attracted to anybody who’s on Bravo right now. I haven’t looked that far into it. I need to meet new people.”

One Bravo TV star Cartwright has no interest in dating is Shep Rose. The “Southern Charm” star was actually a guest at her wedding to Taylor in 2019.

During a December 2024 episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” Cartwright was impressed with Rose’s appearance on the season 10 premiere of “Southern Charm.” “He looks good this season!” she said to host Andy Cohen.

After Cohen told her Rose was single, Cartwright replied, “Well, we can’t go there!”

Cartwright was with Taylor for nearly 10 years, so it’s been a while since she has been single.

In a February 2025 interview, she told Us Weekly she has been casually dating and has “a couple crushes, but nothing serious.” “Obviously, I’m a single mom, so [my son] Cruz always comes first in my life,” she said of the 3-year-old son she shares with Taylor. “So I got to find somebody who fits in with that and my crazy lifestyle as it is.”

The Kentucky native added that she would like to find a partner who makes her laugh. “I feel like having fun with your partner is so important,” she said. “Just somebody who is attentive and does everything that they say they’re going to do and just makes an effort.”

Cartwright first appeared on reality TV during season 4 of “Vanderpump Rules” when she was Taylor’s girlfriend. She joined the show as a full cast member after landing a job at SUR, Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant that serves as the focal point of the Bravo reality show.

“Well, she became part of the show and obviously it’s great for the restaurant to have people that legitimately need to work, and she really wanted to work,” Vanderpump told Entertainment Weekly in 2016. “We were a couple of waitresses down, and I thought, ‘Why not give her a shot?’”

Cartwright and Taylor later scored a spinoff, “Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky,” filmed in Cartwright’s hometown. In 2023, the couple debuted their third series, “The Valley,” on Bravo.
