Brittany Cartwright is setting the record straight on the circumstances surrounding her recent fling with one of Jax Taylor’s friends.
“[Jax and I] did not have a no dating in the friend group policy,” Cartwright, 35, shared on the Monday, November 11, episode of Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast. “We never spoke about that because why would we? First off, I didn’t think I was going to hook up with his friend. It wasn’t planned. I wasn’t trying to go after one of his friends. That’s not how it happened.”
Instead, The Valley star recalled the man in question sending playful DMs before agreeing to hang out in person.
“I could tell this guy was flirting with me. I was always flirting with him,” she told host Alex Baskin. “He’s very much my type.”
While Cartwright did not identify Taylor’s friend in the interview, she was last linked to Julian Sensley. In addition, Vanderpump Rules star LaLa Kent previously alleged on her “Give Them LaLa” podcast that Taylor, 45, called her surprised to hear his ex was hooking up with Sensley.
During the candid interview, Cartwright explained that she and Taylor had two rules when they broke up. (While Cartwright filed for divorce in August, the pair’s date of separation was listed as January 24.)
“What we had said was, ‘Nobody around [our 3-year-old son] Cruz and nobody at our home that we own together … Please don’t have girls at the house,’” Cartwright recalled. “Those were the two rules. I don’t know if he had anyone around Cruz but he had people at my house. I caught them both times. I caught him twice!”
She continued, “I was just so mad at Jax so I didn’t care if I hurt his feelings. Why should I care? He never cared about how he hurt my feelings for years. … You didn’t give me attention, affection or anything for years.”
Cartwright said she is currently single and not dating right now. Instead, she’s “going with the flow” and picturing a future with a man who has kids.
The reality star is also gearing up to open up her own bar in West Hollywood, California.
“You all know we started the bar-restaurant business, and we started off with Jax’s. A lot has changed since we started that,” Cartwright said on the Friday, November 8, episode of the “When Reality Hits with Brittany and Jax” podcast. “I love the partners that we have there and they recently came to me and … Britt’s is coming to WeHo!”
The Valley is streaming now on Peacock. Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date for season 2.
