The OG Vanderpump Rules star reportedly 'knows this is ultimately the right decision but is sad that things ended up the way they have,' a source told People on the same day.
The insider added that Taylor has had a difficult past few weeks amid their marriage turmoil.

Taylor, born Jason Cauchi, and Cartwright have been married for five years and share three-year-old son Cruz.
The Valley reality stars previously tied the knot in Cartwright's native Kentucky on June 29, 2019 and welcomed their son two years later.
Earlier this year, however, the couple decided to take some 'time apart.'
Nearly six months later, Cartwright filed for divorce, and a source added that her decision to legally separate from Taylor was a 'long time coming.'
Cartwright, who requested primary custody of their son, believed divorcing him was something she 'had to do for the best interest of herself and her son.'
The source also added that Cartwright eventually filed 'in order to move forward and put a stop to this tumultuous cycle they've been living in.'
'There's a lot that has transpired over the past few months that she could not look past,' the insider continued.

Wearing a white towel over a blue bathing suit, Cartwright came to her front door to collect a glass bottle in a black plastic bag from an Uber Eats delivery person.
Missing from her left hand was her wedding ring, which she has not worn publicly since June.
Cartwright flashed a smile as the delivery person checked her ID before driving away from her residence.

Additionally, Cartwright is seeking to block the ability of the court to award either one of them with spousal support.
Cartwright cited their date of separation as January 24.
The filing comes days after Taylor left a mental health facility. A rep for Taylor previously told Us Weekly he was set to depart last week.
Cartwright and Taylor wed in 2019 but separated this past February.
The couple's early romance was chronicled on the Bravo series Vanderpump Rules and the breakdown of their marriage was captured on the spin-off, The Valley, with Cartwright revealing she had moved out their marital residence with son Cruz.
'A lot has happened with me and Jax,' Cartwright said in a confessional. 'We were already having issues all summer long, but once the cameras stopped rolling, things just seemed like they were getting worse and worse and worse.
'So about six weeks ago, I separated from Jax. I moved into an AirBnb with Cruz because Jax would not leave the house,' she said on the finale.
