Brittany Cartwright called out her estranged husband Jax Taylor for the errors made in his response to her recent divorce filing, without assistance from legal advisors.
In a handwritten document, obtained by People, the reality star, 45, mistakenly stated they were not 'legally married' and gave an inaccurate timeline of their relationship.
Unlike Cartwright, who listed their date of separation as January 24, 2024, a month before they shared the news publicly, Taylor claimed they didn't officially call it quits until September 26, 2024.
He also seemed to have erroneously checked a box 'indicating "other" when it came to determining child support for their son Cruz.'
After fans expressed confusion over the mistakes and discrepancies made by Taylor, Cartwright took to social media to address the errors.
'We are legally married,' she wrote in a comment under one of E! News' Instagram posts. 'I’m guessing paperwork is hard for some people.'
Lance Bass, who officiated the former couple's nuptials back in 2019, also chimed in to confirm that Cartwright and Taylor's marriage was legally binding.
'Pastor Lance signed the papers,' he wrote.
Taylor's representative clarified to People that the 'errors [made by his client] will be amended without delay.'
'Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern,' his rep added. 'While Jax made errors in filing out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, those errors will be amended without delay.'
Last month, Taylor, who revealed he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and also post-traumatic stress disorder after a recent mental health facility stay, said her filing was the 'right decision for their family' during an episode of his When Reality Hits podcast.
'I understand why she did [it]. I'll always love and care for Brittany. She's the mother of my beautiful son [Cruz],' he said.
He went on to joke that he would 'make an excellent ex-husband.'
He also expressed his desire for their relationship to 'be amicable' and for them to 'hopefully [become] really, really good friends one day.'
Brittany, 35, filed for divorce in August after five years of marriage, as per legal documents seen by DailyMail.com.
She cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for ending the marriage.
Brittany has requested primary legal and physical custody over the child however is open to visitation for her ex.
Additionally, Cartwright is seeking to block the ability of the court to award either one of them with spousal support.
Cartwright and Taylor, who wed in a lavish wedding that aired on Vanderpump Rules, have a three-year-old son Cruz together.
Brittany felt like filing for divorce was a 'long time coming,' per People's source.
The reality star knew 'she had to' file for divorce 'for the best interest of herself and her son.'
The Vanderpump Rules filed 'in order to move forward and put a stop to this tumultuous cycle they've been living in,' the insider added.
The source added: 'There's a lot that has transpired over the past few months that she could not look past.'
'This decision wasn't made lightly but she feels adamant that it was the right one,' the insider added.
The couple's early romance was chronicled on the Bravo series Vanderpump Rules and the breakdown of their marriage was captured on the spin-off, The Valley, with Cartwright revealing she had moved out their marital residence with son Cruz.
'A lot has happened with me and Jax,' Brittany said in a confessional. 'We were already having issues all summer long, but once the cameras stopped rolling, things just seemed like they were getting worse and worse and worse.
'So about six weeks ago, I separated from Jax. I moved into an AirBnb with Cruz because Jax would not leave the house,' she said on the finale.
Brittany said that Jax not moving out showed his selfishness. Brittany said she left with their three-year-old son Cruz because the situation at home was toxic. Brittany said Jax would come with a hangover and in the morning would be 'mean as a snake.'
'I just hit this point where I just started noticing everything that he did to me,' Brittany said. 'It just hit me like a ton of bricks.'
Brittany said during their relationship that Jax cheated on her, disrespected her and humiliated her.
'I have been through a lot of pain in this relationship,' Brittany said. 'I just can't deal with it anymore.'
