Brittany Cartwright is sharing new details on Jax Taylor's claims that she asked him to hook up after they split.
Jax and Brittany had a contentious separation that culminated in Brittany filing for divorce, and Season 2 of The Valley is giving a deeper look as the two have disagreed over everything from parenting and housing to getting back together.
“She was at my house the other night. All by herself. We almost hooked up,” Jax told Tom Schwartz on the Season 2 premiere.
He also told executive producer Alex Baskin on Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast in March: “She’ll call me. Like two days ago. ‘Come over, you wanna get some drinks?’ ‘Come over you wanna hook up?’”
However, Brittany explained in The Valley Season 2 After Show video above that while she did have “weak moments,” those are now long behind her.
Additionally, Brittany took issue with what Jax said on the Hot Mic podcast.
“We did not hook up,” she said on the After Show, then clarified, “We did hook up one time. But that was before what he was talking about on the Hot Mic.”
Still, Jax claimed something different.
“Eight weeks ago, we took Cruz to the aquarium. And then we went to Hooters for lunch. After a couple of drinks, she was like, ‘Maybe we should hook up to see if we still have it,’” he said in the After Show video above. “And I was like, seriously? All the stuff that you’ve been saying about me publicly? And all this—the hate. I was just taken aback. No. And I think it made her really upset.”
“I would never do that now,” Brittany fired back. “Are you kidding me? No. And he did it to me. Many, many times. Trying to get me to hook up with him.”

Although the timeline of “hookup” conversations differed between Brittany and Jax, they both agreed that it’s come up since their separation started.
“We were together ten years, so I definitely had a couple weak moments,” Brittany said on the After Show. “My main thing was to try to get to a point where we could be friends. Because we have a son together. So, I would try and try and try. So, I’ve definitely had like a couple of weak moments, but that has not happened in a long, long, long time.”
Kristen Doute took issue with Jax “letting the whole world” know about the hookup conversations.
“His wife was having feelings about her husband when he’s being nice,” she said on the After Show. “So yeah, absolutely, when Jax was like, turning on the charm. Being a good dad to Cruz. Being calm. She would literally text me and go, ‘Where the f—k has this man been?’ And she’d start crying, and she’s like, ‘This is all I wanted. It’s too late now.’”

Brittany shared that her “hookup” thoughts happened in the early days of their separation, and moving out of their home made it more complicated.
“It was just really hard for me, because I still loved him very much,” she said. “And that’s the only reason I had weak moments here and there.”
She also accused Jax of being a “love bomber.”
“He knows how to say the right things and how to like manipulate situations and make me think he’s going to change,” she claimed. “And how he wants his family back. And it’s hard when you love somebody to not hope that that could actually be the truth.”
But she also shared the turning point when she knew their marriage and any “hooking up” was over: when Jax reacted to finding messages between her and his friend Julian.
“After that Julian moment, and he flipped out the way he did, and was so horrible, I was just like, ‘Nope, never backtracking like that ever again,’” she said.

Brittany revealed the current status of her and Jax’s co-parenting relationship on the After Show.
“I haven’t spoken to him in over a week and he cannot stand it,” she said, and added that he recently showed up uninvited to her home. “Came around to the sliding doors. I was like, ‘Nope, leave.’ Started filming him. Because I won’t respond to his messages right now. Because he did that Hot Mic podcast, and I wrote down 31 notes where he lied on it.”
Brittany also took a moment to share how the former couple's son, Cruz, is impacting her decisions.
“Cruz is my driving force. He is what keeps me motivated. Because he is so happy,” she said. “He is with me majority of the time...But Jax has just been so up and down. How am I supposed to trust you? It’s going to take a long time.”
