MILLIE Radford has come under fire after admitting she nearly cancelled her five-figure wedding over a disagreement about the colour scheme, with some calling her a “spoilt brat.”
The 23-year-old, who married Harley Passmore last November, admitted that a “nightmare” argument nearly derailed their big day.
Millie and Harley tied the knot at Wennington Hall in Lancashire, a stunning venue that accommodates 140 guests for the wedding meal and up to 250 in the evening.
With packages starting at an eye-watering £8,995, it was no small expense.
Despite the drama, the wedding went ahead - though not without a bit of pre-wedding chaos.
Millie, who is a stay-at-home mum to three children - Ophelia Jo, Chester Bleu, and Elodie Jade, two of whom she shares with Harley - was called out by fans after sharing wedding details on the latest Channel 5 episode of 22 Kids and Counting.
She revealed that she and her then-fiancé had clashed over spending too much money, adding fuel to the fiery debate about her lavish celebration.
Millie, who is the daughter of Sue and Noel Radford, was branded “bridezilla” as the mum, who is one of the oldest children of Britain’s biggest family, was seen picking out “the most expensive wedding dress” in the shop, as the dresses had price tags of £2,000.
Sue was heard saying to her that her expectations “are quite high,” whilst Noel added: “Well that's the thing isn't it?
“Young people, they just look on these Instagram and all these other platforms and see the perfect dress, the perfect cake and decide that's what they want.”
But after Harley lost his job, he said to Millie: “You think it's going to be some fairytale ending. Like ‘I want this, I want that’ well it's not happening.”
The couple were also shown bickering over the wedding colour scheme.
Millie wanted yellow, but Harley wasn’t a fan and said he’d much prefer teal blue.
Earlier on in the episode, Millie was also heard saying: “I like a traditional relationship where Harley is the breadwinner. He thinks he makes all the decisions but I tell him what to do.
“I wear trousers in the relationship.”
And when staff at Wennington Hall asked whether they thought the cost was in their price range, Sue explained that it was “more than what” they “were hoping for.”
The Radford family uploaded the trailer to their YouTube channel, where many commented their thoughts on Harley and Millie's argument.
One said: “A wedding doesn't have to cost the earth, it's about love not showing off.”
A second added: “'Millie is being a spoilt brat. She needs a reality check.
“We got married on a budget 46 years ago and we have never regretted it.
“My engagement ring was one of the cheapest in the shop. I still love wearing it. All of I want this and I want that is not what makes you happy.'”
Whilst another commented: “I loved this show when it was all about FAMILY and being together.
"All it is now is nothing but corporate monetisation, branding and labels.”
And a fourth added: “It's a wedding that sadly will probably not last.”
