Kyle Richards’ daughter Sophia Umansky has turned a corner in her hair loss journey after sharing videos of the “dramatic” fallout she endured in spring.
Umansky, 25, gave fans an “update” on her health via TikTok on Tuesday, July 8, noting that it was “extremely stressful” when her hair initially fell out.
“I was honestly scared I was going to go bald,” Umansky said, referring to the clumps that she found in the shower drain and on the wall in April. “Since then, I’ve been really focusing on eating a ton of protein, taking the right vitamins and trying a few different things to stop the fallout.”
The Buying Beverly Hills star revealed that she’s been “consistently” using a scalp massager when she showers to keep her scalp “exfoliated and healthy.” Umansky noted that the tool also helps your hair “grow healthy.”
Sophia — one of Richards and ex-husband Mauricio Umansky’s three daughters — gave her followers an inside look at the rest of her healthy hair tips and tricks. (The exes, who separated in July 2023, also share Alexia Umansky and Portia Umansky. Richards is also the mother of Farrah Brittany, whom she shares with ex Guraish Aldjufrie.)
“I’ve been taking biotin gummies and collagen,” Sophia said on Tuesday, adding that she’s been using a special shampoo and conditioner by Pura d’or regularly. “It’s anti hair thinning and it works really well.”
The marketing assistant explained that she “only” uses silk scrunchies now because “they’re so much better for your hair.” Sophia noted that she sleeps in a scrunchie every night, but the silk version helps to make sure your hair “doesn’t fall out and it doesn’t rip and tug at your hair.”
Additionally, Sophia has been drinking “a ton of protein smoothies.” She revealed, “Upping my protein has definitely helped,” saying, “I already notice a lot less shedding.”
Sophia identified a collagen protein drink called Aura as the one she currently “loves,” claiming it’s “helped a lot with the hair stuff.”
Sophia, who has been using Mounjaro for weight loss, added that anyone using a GLP1 tool should “make sure you’re getting enough protein, or your hair will absolutely suffer.”
She added that Aura “has seriously helped me feel stronger and like I’m not falling apart.”

Sophia’s update comes less than three months after she shared her “dramatic hair loss” via TikTok on April 30.
“I am very lucky that I have so much hair, because at the rate that I’ve been losing hair, I’m gonna be bald in about a week,” Sophia said, noting that her hair loss lined up with when she began taking Mounjaro.
She continued, “I think it’s a direct result of rapid weight loss because of the medication, and not eating enough vitamins, protein, all that kind of stuff.”
